SAN DIEGO A man verbally attacked a Girl Scout who was selling cookies at a grocery store in Clairemont, the victim and mother said Wednesday.
Cindy Baldan, 13, has been a member of the Girl Scouts since she was in kindergarten, but what she said happened to her Tuesday afternoon at Kiels grocery store scared her.
I said, Would you like to buy cookies? He said, No, I dont want to buy them, said Baldan, adding the man turned on her and began to yell.
He said She looks like a hooker! said Cindys mother, Melissa Baldan.
The man entered the store and returned later to continue yelling at the teen.
We were both crying, said Baldans mother. I was trying to console her and random strangers that saw it were trying to comfort my daughter.
Baldan said it shattered her sense of confidence and sense of safety fearing someone else will yell at her.
I was visibly shaken, said Melissa Baldan. He wasnt crazy, he was just mean.
Fox 5 attempted to contact the man at his home, but there was no answer.
I understand being frustrated with the liberalism of the Girl SCOUTs
If any really feel the need to vent, I would recommend pulling the girl’s mother aside privately, and telling her why you won’t buy cookies. But don’t take your frustration out on the girls themselves
Other wise, just politely decline to buy cookies.
I am still betting it’s a lie, and the Drama Mama wants her 15 minutes.
So why didn’t YOU correct the proto-vandal behavior of your offspring?
What he was doing was completely harmless. If he was taking a hammer to it, then that would be a problem.
The point is DONT mess with other peoples children. It is NOT your responsibility.
Screw your attitude. If you can’t take the time or effort to correct your little punks behaviour in public you can expect me to do so. Then if you have an issue with me telling your undisciplined animal to behave like a human being you can take whatever action you feel is necessary. And so will I.
Oh, I see. You think you’re judge and jury. YOU decide what is appropriate or not.
You sound just like that guy who decided to execute people because he was judge and jury. He thought their music was too loud.
It must be nice to be God. People like you disgust me. And stay away from my kids you sicko.
Yes, I have seen what 13 YO’s wear nowadays and that is the main reason I am so, very cautious of what my daughter wears. I’m sure you’ll have something mean to say to me; but, this is the mother of the girl in the article.
She was wearing leggings, ankle length (no shear spots or cuts cuts or holes) and a T-Shirt that had longer sleeves.
I see girls out and wonder if their mother’s noticed what they were wearing or care, at all. I, on the other hand do care what my kid wears and am not ready for her to grow up too fast. I don’t even allow for wedge shoes yet.
So, there you go...Although many people do allow their daughters to wear short shorts (might as well be underwear) and skin tight tanks and belly shirts at 13...I do not. And Cindy wouldn’t have been comfortable leaving the house like that anyway.
Just wanted to throw that out there to set the record straight.
Have a nice day
Actually, I wasn’t the one who called the cops. Another lady did.
Also, we were leaving the area after the tirade. And, when your child gets screamed at and called names in front of you and you see them frightened and hurting...well, it breaks your heart. That is why I cried. I felt sorrow for another human being, forgive me.
As far as drama mama...Talk to the pregnant lady who ran after him in the parking lot, called the cops and every news channel in San Diego.
Really...It’s my husband’s fault?
Did it ever occur to you that we were wearing regular and appropriate clothing and the man yelling at us was just a jerk?
Both my daughter and I have personal pride and don’t leave the house wearing revealing clothes. Just saying.
Interestingly, he was driving a car and the pregnant lady got his plate number. they figured it out from there.
LOL! that was my quote, not my daughter...And, actually, yes, kids do talk like this: when they are educated and enjoy reading and such.
