Wow! Be careful. Living alone can make small accidents into big disasters. Yours was no small accident, either. Did you go get pictures taken?

“Wow! Be careful. Living alone can make small accidents into big disasters.” Yes, I know, but I can't find husband material who knows how to garden. :o)

“Yours was no small accident, either. Did you go get pictures taken?”

No. I put ice on my hand and wrist as blood vessels were broken and pouring blood and ice on a finger of left hand as it stung with blood pouring into it. There was only one place on the top of my foot, about the size of a dime and I put ice on that but it seemed okay.

I woke up in the night with just the cover pressure killing that foot and threw cover off it and went back to sleep. When I saw the foot in the morning, it was swollen and black and blue with blood in it and I could not walk on it. I could not have gotten to the doctor unless I called an ambulance. I got downstairs and got food and sat in my chair the rest of the day, up to bed at end of day, and back in the chair the next day and that went on for several days. After two weeks, the foot looked better but I still couldn't walk on it very well at all. Make a doctor's appt. for the next Monday and before that Monday the foot got better, so I canceled that appointment.

One thing I should have done is get out a walker I had for my husband, and used that to help navigate around the room. I actually have two of those and could have put one upstairs, too, to help me around the bedroom/bathroom.

Where were the walkers? Outside in the storage room. I need to put those in a spare bedroom so I can get to them. Folded up they take up very little room. Well, I'll move them inside, lesson learned.

It could have been worse. I was going down a small ramp onto the bottom deck when I tripped and that threw me forward and I couldn't stop and didn't stop until my head crashed into the glass door. I sat there before I moved to check my head and there was no blood and I could think. I checked my arms and legs and they worked. I watched myself the rest of the day and if I had started getting sleepy, I would have called 911 because getting sleepy would mean I had a concussion or brain damage. That place on my head got a bit sore but I didn't have a bump.

So, I was lucky my head was okay and I dealt with the rest of it. One second you are fine and the next second you aren't. Just like your scooter overturning and that put you in a bad way instantly.
