Quinn and Rose are off the air, (temporarily, I hope!) Gone, but DEFINITELY not forgotten! Meanwhile, our friendly group of dedicated FReeper Q&R fans will meet in our usual spot - same time, same station - as we always have! So grab your coffee - or whatever you choose to start your day - and drop in for some political chit-chat, or just to shoot the breeze! We are all coming from - or going to - work, but we all stop in to say hi! Feel free to join us!

Good morning FRiends! Snap! TGIF!
Mornin’ everybuddy!
Good morning.
There is some news about the X station. CC has named a new sports director. He will do a morning two hour talk show on AM 970 (sports?) Then do sports afternoons on the X with Stan Savaran.
Pittsburgh can not support so many sports stations so something has to give. Hopefully it will open a new talk station and a slot for Q&R. Or possibly Q&R on 970 early then the new sports director doing his morning show there after them...maybe at 9 or 10.
No matter what it looks like a solid conservative talk station is done.
Morning A.M.
Hello fellow winter snugglers.
Morning MM!
16 degrees. Looks like at least another cold week ahead...
Morning everybody!
I wonder if they’ve talked to Glenn Beck about a show on The Blaze?
IDK...remember how at one time Rose was VERY upset with Glenn? We never did find out why did we?
Good morning n’@ MM...hope you are feeling better and getting stronger each...so GLAD to see you here this morning :)
Yes...I remember...I hope they didn’t burn their bridges w/Beck.
As to NO solid dedicated conservative station in the Burgh...what would then happen to the syndicated Rush & Hannity shows? Just NOT be renewed?
Now to the wx...somebody is going to some snow this weekend. Right now it doesn’t look like we get more than some snow showers...but a lot can change and most Meteos missed our “surprise” snow of last Monday that went across southern half of PA.
What would happen...unkown. 104 had a fantastic line up! They had an audience and that drew advertisers. But it seems CC wants to dominate sports. Maybe they figure there is more money there.
One of the strange things in radio is that often when you narrow your programing and lose some audience you get more profit. You are aiming for only one or two demographics.
More than likely consultants feel the younger generstions could care less about talk, especially politics. However both younger males and females are interested in sports.
Older demos also will follow sports.
So they are cutting back on traditional talk and shifting to sports oriented programing.
FWIW one of the radio talkers I enjoyed working with most was Bruce Kieden. Boxing was his thing but he was great with all sports...very intelligent...pulitzer prize winner He and I hit it off right away. He enjoyed my writing. Passed a long time ago. Miss him much.

Morning!
Mr S said he thought he heard they busted some Russian guy in Pittsburgh after finding bomb-making materials in his apartment? I read, here on FreeRepublic, about a guy in Atlanta who was burned badly when a bomb he was building went off. They found explosives in his apartment as well. That guy was muslim. Last week some time. The freeper said it only made the local news and not national. He also said the feds were there within minutes and took over the case from local law enforcement and even the news reporters were asking why they were there so fast.
Hannity is dedicating more than half of his shows to liberals now, can’t really call his show conservative. It’s becoming more and more difficult to listen to but there is nothing else on the radio.
I think I heard the guy here in Atlanta wanted to kill himself—but then so do suicide bombers. At any rate, the Feds took computers and flash drives and , as far as I know, there have been no updates.
I’m sure that there is a market in this region for another political talk show. I listen on the web more than on the radio but that only works when I’m in the office. I mostly listen to my diesel engine when driving as Pittsburgh radio is so lousy.
I have three mp3 players. I’m always downloading shows from the day before. Levin, Rush (I’m a 24/7 member), the Chris Plante show on WMAL, Michael Berry, and sometimes Howie Carr and Jeff Kuhner from WRKO All free except Rush. Sometimes I even download Coast to Coast AM when John B Wells is hosting. At work I can stream Glenn Beck if I plug in the mp3 to make it look like I’m listening to that. They are not Quinn and Rose, but they are more informative than the MSM garbage that they call ‘news’.
So you do the old “fake listening to the MP3 player while streaming” at work too. I’m self employed but sometimes I take contracts where I work on site, anymore I will not entertain a contract where I cannot listen to talk radio.
