I cancelled my DishTV service then changed my mind. Called DISH and was told I have to wait 60 days. Seems they would want a customer to sign back up.
Heard Dish treats their techs pretty crappy but don’t know
if other providers are any better.
As crappy as cable is, its internet provides a better value.
I have Cox who keeps jacking up the prices, but their internet (mid level) is at about 20 MBPS speed and 200 GB download per month. No DSL or satellite or wireless can compete with that either the speed or quantity for the price. Wireless only offers 5 GB downloads, thus making it impossible to use Netflix, etc.
My cable+internet jumped nearly $10 last year and again this year.
Raises Hand...
In fact I just finished watching two excellent Art documentaries on Netflix "The Art of The Steal" and "The Rape of Europa"...
We also use Free Hulu and Free Network sites and if there is anything we must watch that isn't available on the net like The Walking Dead we buy instant digital from Amazon.
Plus there are literally thousands of sites that stream most of what is on TV for free.
I’ve heard things about Hughesnet.
Just know what you’re getting into

We cancelled back when they brought on al jazeera. Have no TV now. Just Netflix. Much cheaper and not supporting those we do not want to.
Free bees and get the honey for nothing!
$7.99
I agree, got rid of my TV and cable in 1984. One of the best things I have ever done!
What are you doing for the internet, Morse Code???
I'm a ways up in the sticks. Cable is a half mile away. I'm too far from Central Office for DSL. Local TV due to terrain is impossible. I use land line phone for internet, medical, & security reasons { my phone needs to work especially when power is out} and a cell phone for when I'm gone and can get a better signal. The TV signal issue is why I started out with C-Band.
Something else I did not know...
More interesting info...thanks
Personally, I am somewhat electronically challenged, but my off springs are great with that stuff....great info!
That’s what I have been hearing and see no need for paying those high prices....thanks for sharing.
Even better, right?
Oh great, I still have my DVD and VCR players, and your set up sounds really smart.
Yeah, unless you've been with them for a long time. Then they go up on you every year and you pay through the nose.
wifi, so i still experience those provider costs
If I could figure out how to get ESPN otherwise, I’d probably dump the tv part of my “cable”.
Thanks to U-Verse becoming available in my neighborhood, I’m at least paying 2010 prices to BrightHouse.
