I was clicking through some links on Wikipedia last night, and stumbled across the "List of One-hit Wonders" in the United States." Amazingly, they have separate, detailed individual lists for each decade ( I've posted the links below..)I was astonished at how many there were, how many I'd liked, and many I'd pretty much forgotten; and I spent several hours on YouTube, reminiscing, and then downloading some of the tunes. So, enjoy.. if you have a favorite, opine below...

One of the worst one hit wonder songs, at least in my opinion, is “The Little Black Egg” by the Nightcrawlers, recorded in 1965.
“Afternoon Delight” by Starlight Vocal Band. I loved the vocal harmonies when I was a kid.
“Oh, Babe, What Would You Say” by Hurricane Smith. Not sure if that’s the correct title.
Man, I love 60s/70s one-hit wonders.
Sure.
I take OHW at face value; only one hit in the top 25 or top 100.
Folk, jazz, classical; lots of musicians can become almost legends without one.
A lot of so-called OHW artists mentioned have quite a few top 25 or 100 appearances.
Glenn Yarbrough had maybe 2-3 top 100s, but a very nice career. Not sure I’d consider him a OHW.

Cool. Now that I’ve done a little searching on the band, I didn’t realize some of them went on to further musical accomplishments.

The young Gypsy girls, in Las Vegas, used to do this for us around 3 AM, at my weekly rental, and everything would finally be broken up after somebody called the police, presumably because of the noise. lol
