Things are not better for me. The pain is constant and I wish I had better meds, though I know I have a strong med now, it’s not working for me. I don’t know what to do. I have an appointment Thursday with my primary care doctor regarding my fingers and left arm. It’s very possible that I will leave that appointment with a script for an electric chair or a scooter. This is maddening, not knowing how to lower the pain. The last 3 fingers on the right hand are discolored and swollen and very tender. The middle 3 fingers on the left hand are tender and hurts when I try to grasp things. I don’t know what I’m going to do when those fingers are unusable...how do you pick up a drink or a food plate or open meds or ANYTHING?

I’m worried that this is going to make me unable to function normally and unable to provide for my son. Anyone already having these type of problems? Anyone able to give suggestions?

To everyone,

I know that a lot of Freepers don’t believe that healing is for today. I don’t want to start up a theological argument, this thread is about trussell. I do believe that the Lord still heals. If someone feels a need to disagree can we can do that on another thread? You can start one up and ping me. I just need to speak with trussell a minute.

trussell,

There comes an end to what man is capable of doing. It sounds like they don’t have a clue what they are doing. If anything it sounds like they are making you worse! Like they don’t have a clue where that plane is (or are lying about it). Modern medicine isn’t “modern”, they just act like it is.

James tells us what believers should do when one of us is sick. “14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; 15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.” — James 5: 14-15

trussell, I lost my Mom this past September to cancer. I was desperate to find someone to pray for her. We were in a small town in Arkansas. I went to a church that supposedly believed in praying for the sick. I was told, “you might bring her in next Tuesday. Someone might be in the office.” My mouth just about fell open. I said that she was too sick to come. They couldn’t be bothered to send anyone to pray.

I couldn’t find anyone. I even chased down a chaplain in the hospital that happened to pass by to ask if there was any church he knew of that could send someone to pray.

At the funeral I asked the Lord why, why did He let her go when she had so many promises — from Him! — about things that were to come in her life. He let me know that it was because there was no agreement. He did it in a way that I knew it was Him, not just me thinking that. He comforted me. But He did tell me it was because there was not enough prayer, not enough agreement.

There is a war on. We don’t always win. There is suffering that happens that doesn’t need to happen because Christians don’t care or don’t pray.

Now, for you. The doctors have done all that they know to do, and some of what they are doing has been bad for you. Your healing isn’t going to come from them.

What do we need to do to get you to a group of believers or a church who can, as James says to do, to lay on hands and pray for the healing of the sick? That is what the Word says to do.

You are in a small rural town, right? I know how that is. Unlikely that you will get help in a small town. Been there, done that. But is there a church there who might? I’m not talking about a church that you agree with all their theology. I mean a legitimate church that does believe in healing.

That’s the first step. Is there a church in your town who will do that?

Dear Trussel, I am sorry that I am so far away from you. If I was closer I would come and help. All I can do is pray for comfort for you.
