Our seasons are ... Non-existent Winter (usually), TORNADO! TORNADO! SOUL-SUCKING HUMIDITY!, Tropical Storm, Winter.
On some songs, Jessica is really good. But on others, she either has no comprehension of the song's meaning (like "Pumped-Up Kicks", which she sang with a smile--the judges called her on that one) or picks a song that doesn't suit her. She also has a huge chip on her shoulder about something ... like she resents having to sing for approval.
I agree with that too. The same thing that can make her seem detached can (in a certain light) make her likeable.
Sam was back home singing on local Fox affiliate Tampa Fox 13. He sang a couple of tunes and no hat.
Reminded me of when Jennifer ran onto the stage and hugged Jessica Sanchez..and to tell her she was not going home as they were gonna save her. She came in 2nd that year to Phillip Phillips. J Lo said she was gonna be the next Whitney. Hasn’t happened yet, lol.
And then there was the year that J Lo told Joshua Ledet that he had the best voice of the past 50 years! He has sung at the White House a couple of times but most of the world has not heard this fantastic voice.
So, yeah, an endorsement by JLo is not that indicative of future success IMO.

Iz lived his life with so much pain, that comes out in every note of that song. I just don’t see Alex Nostrillaminus in the same way. Yes, he has a pained expression on his face, but more “I’ve got a blister” and not “My heart is broken in two.”

These contestant days always look like fun, and they are often in a small town - they look so Americana and just fun events. Who knows, it could just be the cameras.
I’ve gone to a lot of reality show auditions to watch, and ONCE with my son for him to compete - he wanted to be on Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader! It’s fun.
