alex did okay and they got rid of all those annoying curls. He’s just no Caleb who I quit doing laundry to watch.

I agree. Caleb has grown into himself and I think he is wonderful. I loved the part where he dropped his mike, and his description afterwards. He was blank for a second, feeling that he’d messed up, then he said to himself, wait a second, I’ve got this. He slid dramatically on his knees to retrieve it, like a rock star, and never missed a beat. And smiled. When you are confident onstage you can handle ANYTHING.

So much to discuss :)
The shoot out factor in Tombstone was very good but its an 8.9 Gun rating at best. Yeah the end was good but not very realistic.
This is another area where I think "Wyatt Earp" did a better job. That movie is (mostly) accurate, especially the OK Corral shootout. They have it taking place in an alley, which is where the real gunfight happened. The OK Corral was nearby and I guess that looked better in newspapers than "gunfight in an alley".
BUT--the gunfights in Tombstone, while unrealistic like you said, are a lot more fun to watch :)
Open Range shootout is a 9.875 Guns because it was very realistic especially when the towns people overcame their fears and fought back because of the inspiration of others.
Oh that's a 10! I agree. That is the best shootout ever filmed. I've never seen anything else like it. And it's not just the shootout itself. It's Costner telling Duvall what to expect before the fight even begins, while they're smoking their last cigars, eating expensive (but melted) chocolate bars, telling each other their real names ... Then the fight starts. And it's just the way Costner described. So well done.
I haven't watched that movie in a couple years. I gonna pop in the DVD again tonight :)

I think the judges are paid to pump cotton candy up these contestants. It sure seems that way. Maybe the judges go to sensitivity training or something now.

I think the reason he says hello so deeply to his pants, is that most of the time he looks down to greet them and they arent there.Hahaha!

For me to drop the laundry, something decent had to be going on. It was Caleb.

I think a lot of people would drop their laundry for Caleb! He’s gonna be in trouble! LOL.

He’ll have more panties thrown at him than Englebert Humperdinck did, back in the day.

(2014--The Year We Fight Back!)
To: silent_jonny
Hi Jonny!
Open Range is so terrific.
I had a brief chat with the mother of Annette Bening, who was a substitute soloist at our church a few years back. We were in, of all places, the ladies’ room and I told her that my favorite movie of her daughter’s was Open Range. She lit up and said, “So is mine!”
That scene with the locket, where she gives it to Kevin Coster, must have meant so much to her real-life mother, who passed on shortly thereafter.
She was truly beautiful, inside and out.

Hi, B9! Good to see you!
Normally I can't stand Benning, but the Open Range role was perfect for her. And she wasn't the first hire for the job either. There was some other actress--I've never been able to find out who--that was being a pain, so they fired her and brought in Benning. She was more age-appropriate to Costner anyway.
