Thanks! I feel so alone sometimes! Did you watch on the west coast too?

Is there a judges' save this season?
I like this format..two nights a week..boys and girls sing on the same night.
Top six could look like the SEC championship game..3 from Florida, 3 from Alabama..
Do you think the wild cards will be the first to go...I think they all will survive the first 3 cuts..

Good morning, Jocon :)
I dont get the whole idea of listening to yourself while your singing a song, i think it would be completely distracting, like when you get an echo on the phone.
I don't get it either. And apparently they don't get a chance to practice singing with the ear pieces, or they're forced on them. I remember Idols from earlier seasons pulling out the pieces in mid-song because it was messing them up.

Ooh, Its Pat is wearing pink. This must be her feminine side. Yak. LOL, didn't she look just like Hillary*?

The sound system sucked last night...I was always an Idol fan folks but they have chosen the weaker performers. To me it’s like they want this show to suck. I felt it was all karaoke night last night...I was so disinterested it’s not even funny. THE VOICE beats this dead dinosaur hands down!

In case you're interested, it seems that Candice Glover's debut CD tanked, badly..

c.j. has a niche, black country boys are few and far between. And he's good at it too. If he goes the distance, I wouldn't mind buying his album, or at least some mp3s.

Strategically, the contestants have caught on that sloooow ballads kill them in the votes. The one girl that sang a slow song (I think it was just one) is probably going home tonight. Kristen O'Connor.

I want to barf over this song. And then I have to see those parents who have absolutely destroyed this young woman.
This whole situation is just UGH. Totally agree.

Hi Nea :)
Good heavens. Sounds like a really crappy night of Idol!!!
The first half was. Ear-pieces were blamed. Someone must have made adjustments as the show progressed because the last hour sounded much better than the first.
Or they saved the strongest singers for last.

These are the BEST 13? Really Idol? No. They didn't even let 10 of their Top 31 sing for votes last week. They were just eliminated by omission. These included Casey Thrasher and Kenzie Hall, two of the most interesting singers they'd featured.
They didn't fit a demographic, so they were cut.
But there's plenty of room for an off-key lesbian :-|

They’re having a lot of sound problems for this particular show. Lighting guys double up and do sound around here anyway. I haven’t watched last night yet. I did hear a little Sam this a.m. was okay. Nobody’s standing out at this point... Headset issue maybe.

I would have been funnier last night, but it is so cold here, I think I froze my snark off ;-)

I played for several years in a mega-church. 5,000 people every sunday.... in ear monitors... contemporary music... lights etc. Played guitars, drums, base. (No singing... I’m not good) I know our in ears mix was bad more than it was good. But I’m particular. I like for the monitor mix to sound like a good mix, but with my instrument a tad bit louder than the others (hot in the mix). We’d set our own personal Aviom controllers so it would be like each of us wanted. But inevitable, the sound guys would pump so much of something or another into it from song to song... that we were all scrambling. Good sound guys are worth their weight in gold. But most of the time, unless you’re in the big time... you gotta learn to play with it bad in your ears. That’s just being seasoned.
