HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Like my daughter pointed out this morning...we’re one year closer to getting rid of Obama!

This kerfuffle with Rodgers now puts a spin on the Niners/Packers game. Maybe it will have no effect but I did expect SF to be able to get a gritty victory. Now, GB might band together and win it.

Believe it or not, I once saw her in the airport, walked right next to her and as I've always been one who couldn't find words, said nothing to her.

Yes, Donna Douglas it is... "Green Acres" was a spawn of the Hillbillies but I missed... the connection.

Guess there is more Hank Kimball in me... than I care to admit

Rodgers says the guy was his roommate. What I want to know is, what the hell would a millionaire want with a roommate?

Bingo! There is no reason that Aaron Rodgers should be rooming with another guy being the fact that he is a multimillionaire at the age of 30!

Also why would Aaron Rodgers bring this guy to all of those events as his "guest"? If he wasn't dating a woman at the time he could have brought a family member.

IMO, in this situation where there is smoke there is fire. And from hearing the news today that he went on radio and repeated that he wasn't gay after days of silence strikes me as bizarre. Everyone including his supposed girlfriend's family refused to comment to the media. In fact the supposed girlfriend's father claimed, "I was told not to make any comment."

Unless you had something like they were frat brothers, beer drinking buddies, ice-fishing or hunting buddies, Northwoods has some great wilderness. You can say he's 30, he's also got a high-pressure job which he has done reasonably well, almost as good as anyone in fact.

But no, this other guy whose name I have seen, I've heard little about him, seems real flakey alright. Could be a hanger on.

note 1 i think my total lack of expertise ... my amateur status ... gave me an edge this year, early in the year.

I did not buy into the insider-knowledge crowd that KNEW miami nyj and buff all stunk ... so I got off to a good start. Plus I am a conservative picker. I go with the favorite team unless I see a reason for an upset.

note 2 if ya look at the SD schedule when they were 5-7, you can see why they were counted out ... considering they had no tiebreakers ... it was almost impossible for them to win.

Even after the victory over DEN on THUR nite to go 7-7, their hopes were crushed when BALT and MIA both won that week. That left them with a 3% chance of playoffs http://files.nfl-forecast.com/ all 6 remaining games had to go their way 2 SD wins 2 MIA losses 2 BALT losses At 50/50 each game, that is one out of 64 or 1.5%

note 3 Date & Time Favorite Spread Underdog 1/4 4:35 ET At Indianapolis -2.5 Kansas City 1/4 8:00 ET At Philadelphia -2.5 New Orleans 1/5 1:00 ET At Cincinnati -7 San Diego 1/5 4:30 ET San Francisco -2.5 At Green Bay

And I called this back then too. Check out my prediction of all three games last week the Chargers needed to go their way. I was pretty much dead on in Post 21, which was days before the games.

I totally called the three games I made predictions for in Week 17. I predicted SD-28-23 real score was SD-27-24 so off 1 point per team. That alone would have been incredible to call that score.

Then go to the Cin-Balt game. I called it Cin 34-21 aND TRUE SCORE WAS 34-17. I was dead on for Cin with the exact score. Only thing is Ravens only scored 17 instead of 21.

On to the Jets game. I called it NYJ-21-7 only off by one point NYJ scored 20 instead of 21. What do I win? Is there a playoff thread for this week as I want in.

81-63, 56%

Look for the perfect coach and you might find nothing.

Tony Dungee, 67%
Mike Tomlin, 63%
John Gruden, 54%

2 taking over teams that had performed well previously, Steelers winning a Superbowl under Bill Cowher. Tampa Bay having performed well under Dungee. Indianapolis had some guy named Peyton Manning as their QB, one of the highest rated if not the top rated QB of all time.

Right. And Bill Belichick has a losing record without Tom Brady as his QB. What’s your point?

Smith is basically Norv Tuner: a coordinator that makes an at best head coach on the NFL level. Smith will not bring a championship to HOU. But that’s their decision.

Good point, Lovie Smith was more successful than Bill Belichick in his first 5 seasons.

It’s clear what my point is, there are a lot more variables here.

Tony Dungee built the team Gruden won with.

At Indy, Dungee had possibly the greatest QB of all time.

Mike Tomlin won with a team that was largely built during Bill Cowher’s management.

And Smith won’t win at Houston because he’s not going to manage there.
