Dont say Christmas.
Thats the message that was conveyed to a group of soldiers at Camp Shelby by an equal opportunity officer from the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute, according to a soldier who attended a recent briefing.
Its unbelievable that the Army would ban Christmas like its a bad word, said Michael Berry, an attorney with the Liberty Institute, a legal firm representing the unidentified soldier.
Two weeks ago, a routine meeting was held at the Mississippi base with various leaders of the 158th Infantry Brigade. During the meeting, they discussed an upcoming Christmas football tournament. The equal opportunity officer immediately objected to the usage of the word Christmas.

At some point in the mid-1990s....in my last year or two before retirement from AF....I stood at some meeting and recognized some newly created job for some Captain as “NKVD-like”. Having spent years within the general intel field...I commented on this, and several folks kinda laughed and said I was noting getting the point. About five years after I retired, most of the same people were now admitting that they were facing NKVD-like individuals on a weekly basis.
I think most of the news journalists of today...function like a NKVD officer. They feel it’s their “duty”, and accept it with no hesitation. We almost need a Animal Farm-like book....to talk over the NKVD experience and how you get from one step to another....creating fake enthusiasm for something that is generally against our beliefs.
Time to bring back “Fragging”...
The Soviet Union had political officers.
The United States now has political correctness officers.
Merry Christmas is on my out of office email reply this week and i used it freely in conversations with army civilians and contractors near and far last week.
No one objected and cant think of anyone that didn’t return the greeting.
~ Merry Christmas ~
“Equal opportunity officer? Is this true?’
Its true alright, more than true. In the military, one thing officers and senior enlisted members fear, is a visit from the EO office. Never good news for your career.
Well, the real NKVD had the power to shoot troops who failed to comply; here they can ‘only’ ruin careers. So far.
>> Army: Don’t say Christmas
Merry Christmas, Army!
This is bad, real bad. The EO officer should be made aware to the public and how closely they resemble the Zampolit of the old Soviet military.
The Army is becoming pathetic. It’s Christmas and it always will be.
How else do you expect them to turn the military into a group of sociopathic and psychopathic death squads just like the third world unless you take God out of the equation?
>>Im sure kwanza would be just fine with this EO officer. This is bullshit and more people need to make a stand against this crap.<<
I guess every platoon has a registered democrat of a minority class, ready to “stand for his/her rights”.
Obama really has turned the military into something from the Soviet Union. The Soviet military used to have “political officers” that would monitor the regular officers to make sure they did not do or say anything contrary to the Communist Party or ideology. Good example is the Clancy novel “Hunt for Red October.”
I’m done serving now, but this angers me greatly, even sitting north of the border!
“I will not comply!” should be the only thing anybody says.
The army should try banning the mention of Eid-al-Fitr and see how far they get.
Un-f*cking-believable.
There is certainly a war on against Christians in America, but this isn’t even a strictly Christian issue - this exemplifies a war on the American way of life.
