My dog just passed (vanity)

Sad news today. My best dog Daisy passed this afternoon. She will be missed.

We got her as a rescue. Someone had thrown here out of a car, she had mange, needed stitches and lots of TLC when we found her some 8 years ago. We adopted her and gave her a good home. She went out this morning and chased that pesky squirrel on the fence. After lunch, we found her by the fire place in her "puppy dreams" sleeping pose.

Loved that dog and having a hard time with this blurry screen.

I’m so, so sorry for your loss. It sounds like your doggie spent her last hours doing what she loved best.

I’m so sorry. I know how this feels. Please see my post on my profile page, called Spiritual Lessons From A Dying Cat (in a few days). It might help.

That’s tough….my condolences...but like someone else said, I am happy for you and the animal that the passing was peaceful, and you didn’t have to make that dreaded trip to the vet….the one where you come home with no doggie. Those suck!

My deepest sympathies, truly! How blessed for you and her that she just fell asleep where she was happiest. She is romping, running and playing. She’ll be leading your welcoming committee when your time comes.

Comfort yourself.

She got up, went out to play, came in to the warmth and love of home .. and went to sleep.

That's how she wanted it .. honor her.

Losing ones pet is always a sad time. We lost ol’ Harry our last Donkey last night here at the ranch. He died in his sleep. He was about thirty years old. I just finished putting the corrals back together after the truck left with his corpse, and came into the house to fine your sad post.

Thanksgiving day we lost our Red Lab Bailey. He too was quite elderly. He had a stroke last January, and we had been nursing the old boy ever since. He too went in his sleep.

The best thing to do is to get yourself another friend ASAP to keep your mind off your loss. We have three other dogs, and two remaining horses, and twelve cats to keep us occupied, but we will miss ol’ Harry, and good ol’ Bail’s regardless.

I am so sorry. So very, very sorry. You obviously gave her a good life and she didn’t suffer at the end. That is so much more than many animals have in this world.

God bless you.

You have my deepest sympathies. When my beloved Timber passed in 2007, it was under similar circumstances. After work one night we took a walk to a nearby field where he and I played fetch, came back home and went to bed. He never woke up.

While there is still a 110 lb. hole in my heart, those ragged edges grow smooth with time, and I'm grateful I didn't have to watch him decline and struggle, force me to make a decision I didn't want to make.

You'll see each other again. Of that I am firmly convinced.

Sorry to hear that. I had my dog since birth. Her mother belonged to my gf and I delivered her and her litter mates. Had her for 14 years and she died on her 14th birthday. That was tough so I know what you are going through. I hope you took lots of pics and video. All I have is pics and no video. That is a great regret of mine.
