The recent uber-goofy initiative by our Choomer-in-Chief to encourage Thanksgiving-dinner discussions promoting Obamacare was a revealing moment, and what it mostly revealed is that fascists want tyranny much more that we want liberty. Think about it: the life purpose for a fascist, in fact it is the air they breath and the nutrients they consume, is to expand their control over others. They politicize everything because that is their reason for existence.
Some for putatively beneficent reasons, even. But as CS Lewis remarked;
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.
We on the other hand mostly want to be left alone to live our lives in freedom, peace and prosperity.
And that is why the Fascist Left has been in ascendancy for a century, with no end in sight. They see every iteration of human life as an opportunity to expand their obnoxious malignancy and paternalism, while we insist on being polite. In fact, every aspect of advancing the Fascist Left agenda is based on their ill-manners, knowing full well that we will not oppose them consistently and proportionally because to do so would cause a fuss. They are counting on us acting like George W. Bush and Rush Limbaugh refusing to stoop to their level by responding to every ridiculous charge. Yes indeed, our good manners are what they are counting on.
In the public arena of so-called partisan politics, the Fascist Left advances on every front every day in every way, slowly metastasizing inside of every human institution, while Republicans and some conservatives insist, We must choose our fights. That is the mantra of a cadre that does not care to win, because all the fights you choose not to fight, you are choosing to lose. When you automatically cede victory to your opponent in a majority of the conflicts, you automatically cede victory in the long run, period.
That is why the Fascist Left is winning and will continue to win they want to fight and win each and every conflict -- and in the aggregate, we dont. We would rather be nice.
This is the most cogent statement of the historical truth I have ever seen. Well said!
Political Science 101:
Nationalist Socialists=Nazi Party
Internationalist Socialists=Communist Party
American Socialists=Democrat Party
More a matter of wanting to be left alone and thinking the other side does too.
But they don't.
Fascists are bullies - and we’re being imbeciles by refusing to confront and beat down the bullies.
We bought the lies the bullies sold to us - by using our own faith and the scriptures against us: judge not - and turn the other cheek. Something Alinsky taught them to do well.
None dare to call what all of this is, Fascism - MarxoFascism to be more precise. And like the Fascists of last century, genocide is being planned and stoked.
You cannot reason with a bully hell-bent on destroying you. They claim they want recognition, equality, and fairness. It’s all a lie.
They want us subjugated or dead. Preferably both.
Until enough of us wake up to understand what is happening right under our noses - we are going to end up like the Jews in Europe of 70 years ago.
It already IS happening here.
It's more like parasites need to keep finding hosts, while plants already found the sun.
To live a virtuous life - to live life of truth, hard work, spiritual effort, and self-discipline - burns away the inner shell separating a person from the Light of God. In return, that Light is sustaining and satisfying, and fills a person with a sense of peace, even in the worst of times. And it transforms the person's vision of the world into an expression of God, and gives guidance an comfort and satisfaction in life. From this, giving and compassion and selflessness can arise naturally from that ever-replenished inner divine abundance. Like plants soaking up the rays of an infinite sun, they seek nowhere else for their inner food.
To reject a virtuous life, however, is to cut oneself off from that inner purification, and in fact make it thicker and denser. The same divine Light in everyone, is then blcoked by the inner darkness, and that inner darkness is then interpreted as reality itself, leading to every darker acts and thoughts. From this, a life of parasitism results, because no spiritual foo can be found inside. And yet, even though the energy, emotions, thoughts, money, and all material needs and comforts are stolen and consumed by the parasite, and they become bloated, they are still never satisfied. Because that inner darkness just grows balcker and colder and more hollow and aching all the time, without rest. And it is this aching, this inner anguish that creates the despair and constantly burning rage that drives the fanaticism of collectivism, which is itself formalized hierarchical parasitism. The Left is driven by its pain, and it can't get rid of its pain because it refuses to accept that it created it.
God is not mocked.

BTW, excellent post, crusher. It inspired me to write my own thoughts on the subject. But you put your finger on what Ben Franklin was worried about when he famously said, “a Republic, Madam, if you can keep it.” All the Founders worried about this - because when people reap the fruit of freedom, they don’t want to come out of it and fight for it again. And especially, as you pointed out, if they have to constantly fight for it, over and over, each generation. But they do, and that’s just a fact of life here on planet Earth. Yet, as you pointed out, they don’t. And that’s why we have the problems we have. Not because evil is more powerful than good, but because the good has slacked off - and that slacking is, ufortunately, also a form of evil.
And the corollary is that we want to think the other person would rather be nice too. That means we expect to be able to find some valid-for-both-sides compromise.
But the other side doesn't care about nice, has more fun being not-nice, and really just wants to win.
Case in point: Mark Belling subbed for Rush today, and was wondering what idiot in the administration thought it was a good strategy for Obama to claim you can keep your doc, policy, etc. He proposed that this was a mistake.
A nice person might think it wrong to lie and shameful to be caught. A not-nice person lies and feels no shame if he gets caught, as long as the lie worked. Mark Belling was suggesting that the Obama folks are on the nice side of things.
The Obama folks aren't nice. They lied purposely and for effect. A huge lie was needed, so a huge lie was supplied. The lie worked. ObamaCare is in. The republicans haven't overturned a single leftist program, they only tinker around the edges. It doesn't matter that the lie was obviously going to be caught out quickly, it only mattered that it was caught out after the law was in. That is why it was so very very important that the law not be read before it was passed.
If you believe that there is any bit of niceness in this administration, you won't believe that lying about the bill and passing it before it was read were both part of the same strategy. But it was, the strategy is to win at all costs.
Remember what Clinton said about impeachment. His staff noted that he should be impeached on the facts. His position was 'we will just have to win' on the politics. While Billy Jeff was willing to go all out to save his hide, he didn't go that far for HillaryCare. There was a limit to his psychopathy.
Obama and the folks behind him have no limits. By hook or by crook they'll stay in power and build on that power. The more leftist programs and people they install, the less effect any later Republican tinkering will have. Personally, it looks to me like the Obama team is playing an all-or-nothing end game here. It's not politics as usual.
And the corollary is that we want to think the other person would rather be nice too. That means we expect to be able to find some valid-for-both-sides compromise being two groups each trying to be nice.

THAT will be the fatal mistake most will make.
There cannot BE ANY COMPROMISE because to do would require surrender of your foundational principles. ALL OF THEM.
Evil is not content to co-exist with righteousness, neither will Collectivists/Progressives co-exist with Liberty and Conservatives. One must out of necessity blot out the other to exist unmolested.
Light has no part with darkness, neither does liberty have any part with tyranny.
Unless and until Americans wake up to this reality - then our doom, subjugation and elimination is inevitable.
Most however, refuse to believe in that reality, lying to themselves that we all hold the same values, just different ways to approach them.
Mass graves will be the end result of such thinking.

Bang on...comfort and security Vs. freedom
"Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves."
-- British Prime Minister "The Right Honourable" William Pitt the Younger, stated on the floor of the House of Commons November 18th 1783
That may have influenced a later epigram by Brit WH Auden:
“The tyrant’s device: Whatever is possible is NECESSARY.”
Very well said. I will share that with my family and friends.
Yep.
I dont play their game. They start and begin to call me something, I get right down and effn nasty right back at the useless spineless bastards. All you need to do is go on congressman Benisheks facebook page to see my and several others down and dirty. They are cowards. Every single lying SOB ONE.
Until it isn’t, and that’s when we bring out the carbines and it all goes to hell.
At the very least, from their POV, this situation brings an excellent opportunity to try out martial law and emergency rule, suspension of habeas corpus etc. FEMA Camps to the limit of your imagination.
So they might figure, hell, why not? We control the military and the federal agencies, right? Right?
That’s why I wrote: “What I saw at the coup.” As much for the record as for the prognostication.
