Researchers recently took data from the Facebook app Are You Interested and found that not only is race a factor in our online dating interests, but particular races get disproportionately high and low amounts of interest.
Of the 2.4 million heterosexual interactions researchers reviewed, the findings show:
The business site Quartz graphed these preferences using data on the percentage of "yes" responses to the "Are you interested?" question on the app. The data suggest some uncomfortable stories about racial preferences in online dating.
Back in 2009, the folks over at OKCupid culled through the site's data and similarly found that race played a big role in who would respond to messages, with some similar (and a few different) findings.
Some quick facts from the OKCupid data:

Asian women really LIKE American white men.
That said, the three things Japanese women want: 1) Cantonese Chinese cooking, 2) an American house, and 3) an American husband. Japanese men aren’t considered real prizes by Japanese women who are given a choice.
You have them in a big jar down in the cellar?
LOL
Stoopit smawt phone.
Yes, in vinegar. I like em pickled and prickly.
I’m guessing this interracial preference is partly a Western thing. In more insular cultures, people not only marry their own kind, but prefer their own kind.
People may be attracted to people of other cultures because:
1)Exoticness (especially sexual).
2)Personality (especially someone quiet, homebody, or easy-going).
Re #2: In Western society women seem to be winning the battle but losing the war. Given the plethora of opportunities outside the home, they move beyond the traditional role. And the more independent & assertive they become, the greater their unwillingness to be passive. In the end they more they turn off their own men, who seek someone simple & obedient. It’s a vicious cycle.
I wouldn’t say “obedient”, more like willing to cooperate.

“Your desire will be for your husband, but he will rule over you.” - the curse to Eve in Gen 3:16.
The cursed desire was for the ROLE of the husband, but he will rule over her because of her created nature - the desire to be taken care of.
We see this in modern feminism and the propensity to vote for Democrats who promise to take care of them while they exercise their “independence”.
Kinda points to the source of the hatred coming out of the black "community".
Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina: Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way...
Better green eyes and red hair than red eyes and green hair. :=)

Your post should be reread multiple times. There is a lot of wisdom in those few words.
Can you point me (link) to the thread that linked to this old thread? I am curious as to what invited this resurrection.
Thank you.
Sorry - I looked - can’t find it. I clicked on the link to the older thread that was in someone’s ‘reply’ in the newer thread - then never went back to the original...
“And online dating is mostly used by those seeking a short-term fling.”
Totally wrong. Most marriages today are from people who meet online.
