Never thought I would have an encounter like this with a humpback whale in Haro Strait, near San Juan Island, Washington. On Maya's Westside Charters it was an unbelievable experience on a mid-November, 2013 afternoon.

Harbingers of Death on CA shores! Rare Giant Oarfish are washing up on California shores. Now according to the Japanese these fish are warnings of impending earthquakes! Which California is definitely past due for!

Very cool. We’ve seen Orcas (never that close) but I’ve never seen a Humpback. Of course the laws require you to give them a wide berth if you do encounter them.

Yeah, the “hi, sweetie” and “we love you” was tolerable when I heard what sounded like a teenaged girl saying it. But, then, the adult male — sorry, can’t call it a “man” — started saying it. Barf.
Cool footage, though.

Let's bring him to Sea World and train him give rides to people, and to splash customers with his cute tail.

One of the most relaxing and beautiful days you can spend anywhere on a clear summer or early fall day is taking a Washington State Ferry from Anacortes to Friday Harbor and back for the day. They even let you bring your own food and adult beverages for the trip. Get off the ferry at Friday Harbor, spend the day, and enjoy a relaxing trip back in the evening.

the adult male-sorry,
Hahahahahah! I was thinking he just stepped out of galley and was talking to his daughter or something...
the whale was pretty cool though.
To: dagoofyfoot
No, he was echoing the words of the young female. Figures, huh? (BTW, I am a woman.)
