We are planning to have a multi-ship convoy, with a large contingent remaining in orbit. Possibly three ship deployment to a flotation altitude of thirty-five kilometers above the surface, where relatively normal Earth air pressure and temperatures obtain.

The mission will be to see if our plastic shell, a relative of Teflon, will be sufficient to keep the sulfuric acid droplets at bay. Also, to derive Nitrogen gas from the atmosphere, and Oxygen from the Carbon Dioxide. Essentially, we’re setting up a greenhouse; a floating greenhouse.

If we can keep things together, survive a few Venus years at altitude, and pull the appropriate materials from the atmosphere, as well as grow our own food, oxygen, and building materials on site, then we’ll have proven that Venus can be colonized, at least in its atmosphere.

It’s not intentionally a one-way mission. Are you game?
