Anyone who opposes the Affordable Care Act is a subhuman (Why Fry a Turkey when You can Zot Them?)

Anyone who opposes the Affordable Care Act is a subhuman. It is a great law but lying republicans are trying to destroy it. I signed up with no problem on the website. Republicans want to repeal my new insurance. Obama is a hero!

I woke up this morning and several doors to the outside were open slightly and my spices were all out on the counter.

I’d have said maybe it was Bill ... except he was doing similar activity here at the time.

That reminds me: I need to get busy making the Christmas goodies I have mixes for.

The Nativities may come out tomorrow. How cool will that be???

I just finished putting the little hangers on the ornaments, but I’m five hangers shy of hanging all the balls. *sigh*

It would seem I will get it all done, just to take it all back down again in a day or two.

"In the last week, I have had to replace every lightbulb in the place."

Sounds like you could be getting an occasional over-voltage situation, sometimes called a "spike".

You might want to ask the agency responsible to install a whole-house surge protection device. It goes in or adjacent to the breaker panel. Hopefully, it prevents nearby surges on the supply line, (like from lightning), from getting in and frying your electronics, (and possibly some of the more fragile light bulbs).

It's worth doing, even if you haven't had problems in the past. Electric surges can be costly.

That's a lot of very sharp teeth you have there, Mr. O'Possum!

More than any other mammal...

I don’t know what the policy here is for installing something of that nature, but it would take and act of congress to get it approved.

As a result, my place has at least three surge protectors in each room, and EVERYTHING is plugged into one. The exceptions are the kitchen fluorescent and the vanity lights in the bathroom. And there is no overhead lighting, so all the bulbs are at my expense. Yay.

I was a bit surprised to wake up to the sound of the mailman this Sunday morning... especially the “pop” of the box hitting the concrete walkway as it was dropped over the fence....

It never hurts to ask. It may be that a significant percentage of residents have to make the inquiry before any action can be taken.

If you need a laugh or a groan, dial Obama’s Health Care Hotline 1-800-382-5968.

As you dial, look at the corresponding alphabet for each number.

If you take the time to translate you will find that 382-5968 spells out “F_ _ _You.”

It’s true! Ironic? Or Prophetic?

This number was set up by the Department of Health and Human Services!!!

You are assuming that the people here have brains that have not been fried by years of drugs, alcohol and other forms of abuse. Most of them can’t remember how they got here, and depend on Maintenance to change light bulbs and unstop toilets.

The Chain of Command says it will go from me to Maintenance, to the Site Manager, to the District Manager, to the Regional Manager and finally to HUD. They will do a study and that may take up to three years, during which time the situation may be rendered moot due to the attrition of the current residents.

So we’re looking at “a LONG TIME” before anything will be done, besides palaver.

But your optimism is refreshing... ;o]
