Coop (in the garage) is closed up, dunno how the chicken got out. semi-urban area with coyotes. If I open door, I figure there might be a mass break out. I have it in a box now. Seems friendly. Fed it some rice.

I have hens. I would leave in garage. No food necessary for one night. Put out some water. The hen would probably not survive a night out.

I haven’t read the whole thread yet and I’m almost certainly not the first to say it but it bears repeating: Chickens are food. So there is one correct answer for you.

Help! Nineteen, single, and the farmer's daughter from across the lane just walked into my living room naked.

What do I do now?

Q. Why did the rooster cross the road?
A. He wanted to impress the chicks!

Neighbor's chicken escaped. I caught it. Now what?

Ask chicken if it would like to stay for supper...

Enjoy!

If you fed it uncooked rice, you may well be eating it for dinner tomorrow when the rice absorbs all the water in the chicken and sets up.. :)

Is it a laying hen? If so, befriend and give it a comfy place on your property (protected by coyotes) to leave some eggs.

I've had pet chickens. They make good friends.

Must be one of Kramer’s Kramerica chickens!

If only he had an intern to keep the chicken wire in repair.
