Toomey voted nay. Ever since he and Manchin put together that gun control legislation, Toomey is now painfully aware that conservatives are hopping mad at him. So he's going to vote the “right” way on the issues from here on, hoping that voters will forget about his betrayal on gun control and he will be re-elected.

Too late, Pat.

People seem to have forgotten how many non health related things were included in the law like green building code mandates and fuel mileage mandates etc.

I’m not shocked - I just called his office and told them that I will never vote for him again!

Predictably enough, both of Arizona’s Democrat senators voted with their Democrat friends. Pity is they both have an “R” next to their names...

McCain and several others are already trying to “fix” this disaster. The passed a bill to waive the Medical device tax part of the law. The vote was very similar in numbers as this vote. That is how this law will get “fixed”. every special interest group will be working to exempt their interest and in 5 years, or less, everyone will be shocked how out of control the cost is.....

I'm not voting Republican again. I seek a new party.

And, if Hillary is our next president, it won't be my fault. The GOP has done this to itself.

I think that is Rubio’s schtick as well... While I appreciate their help today, times have changed ladies and gents, and our memories have sharpened considerably.

Yay, my Senator, Portman voted with Ted. I emailed him and hoepfully, others called and emailed as well.

A bunch of spineless, ball-less wonders who voted for Obamacare.

So the cloture vote was “successful”.

Now Harry Reid can put in an amendment stripping out the defunding of Obamacare.

The amended bill, when remanded back to the House of Representatives, will be either voted down, or if it goes to a “compromise resolution”, will still be hanging in the air.

Getting rid of the “law of the land”.

It has been done before in the history of this country. Consider the 18th Amendment, the prohibition of the sale and/or distribution of alcohol to the citizens of the United States. Highly unpopular, it was probably a great contributor to the air of lawlessness felt in every corner of the nation, but it WAS “the law of the land”. When its full effects became obvious, as the law was both unenforceable and unjust in its application, not touching the worst offenders, or even rewarding them with no later consequence, it was reversed.

So much for the sanctity of the belief in “the law of the land”.

Which Republicans who voted with Reid are up for re-election?

I want to contribute to every primary opponent.

The big surprise on that list is Heller. I guess payback for Dirty Harry trying to kneecap him in his last election.

Don’t be surprised (and I know you aren’t) but year in and year out so may Conservatives keep “holding their nose and voting” and NOTHING changes. Until we abandon the GOP completely nothing ever will. And, yeah, I know the “but the Dems will be in charge” argument. The Dems are ALREADY IN CHARGE and that is not ever going to change at this rate.
