This week, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz caused a stir by asking customers to leave their guns at home.
While Schultz stressed that customers who did legally bring guns into stores wouldn't be kicked out, the comments offended a lot of people.
We asked two Starbucks competitors, McDonald's and Dunkin' Donuts, if they had gun policies for their thousands of restaurants.
Both companies said they simply abide by the laws of that state or region.

Hey you got post #100.
South Orange County in Southern California.
I have never seen a Waffle House in California.
I guess I’ll check out their Website and see if I just never noticed one out here.
I've always preferred Dunkin Donuts to Starbucks because it has a more business-like and less-bohemian atmosphere. You can order your coffee drink in two syllables without sounding like a rube. Over at Starbucks, you have to wear sandals, sport a goatee and use five or more syllables to describe your drink in order to be accepted as a member of the cognescenti.
That said, I do have some guilty pleasures over at the Starbucks such as their pumpkin-based lattes.
And after 2am, you will probably need to use it!
I know Orange County well. At least up until 1995 ! was there several times a year on business. Waffle House locator for Orange County link. I hope I post this right.

Excellent point. In this case, the gun owners made the same tactical mistake as the homosexuals. In the case of the homosexuals, their "in-your-face" approach has backfired. People generally are live-and-let-live types and we normally wouldn't make it our business to worry about how others are living our lives. But when you insist on calling attention to yourself and forcing others to take notice, it usually does not end well for your cause.
I’ve never been to a Starbuck’s. (No ideology, just not a coffee drinker.) When I go to a Dunkin’ Donuts, all I want is donuts. (And iced tea if I’m eating in.)
Looked more like Rickie Lee Jones to me. “Elvira” is Cassandra Peterson.
Small Change” cover is Cassandra Peterson before she became “Elvira”. She and TW ran together during those daze....
“Blue Valentine” back cover is Ricky Lee Jones.
Ricky Lee is definitely not as buxomy as Cassandra on “Small Change”.
True dat. RL Jones was also in the Waits crowd back then. I still remember the first time I played "The Piano has Been Drinking" for my wife....
Lol. The other night my family was eating out on the back deck and I saw a mosquito flying around. I clapped my hands to kill the pest, and my wife asked if I got him. I looked at my palms, and licked one of them. I turned to her and said, “Got him!”
The very best version of that song is his live version on “Fernwood Tonight” followed by a hilarious interview. TW’s line “I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy” is classic Tom Waits.

AAAAAA!!!! I am such a germophobe and hubby is NOT.
We had a picnic at our farm with some of our friends and while hubby tended the grill, a fly landed on his potato salad. When he came back, I pointed to the exact spot where the fly was and told him what happened, expecting him to throw that bite away. He SCOOPED it up and ATE IT!!! My friend’s children go camping all the time and are used to being outdoorsy so it didn’t phase them one bit but I was FREAKING out!!!!
OK. Take a digital pic of every WH you see and document the area.
Go inside and get the double hashbrowns all the way. Take a pic.
Ask servers for a group hug and take a pic.
I will show you results soon. :^)
The closest Waffle House to me is in Arizona, but thanks anyway.
Luckily the urge is gone. Breakfast at a local place called Corky’s Diner fit the bill. They have Biscuits and Gravy and a Senior Menu with Coffee for a dollar. Yummy, yummy...
I’ll be watching
I like bars and cafe’s with a person’s name.
Well, I never had that much energy even when I was young. But I figured out it was fried adrenal glands and a low does of cortisol has given me a big boost.
So now I finally have some energy when it is too late to do anything with it. At least the rocking chair will be going at supersonic speed! lol
