Some stuff still leaves me puzzled here. How can a 'Bollywood 'dance sequence be considered 'Miss.America's' talent? If someones born an American and claim to be all American, wouldnt they have some original American talent to show and win the prestigious Miss.America title? Does a nation have to become so diverse that it'd loose its own identity? The most sad part is the dance number the winner performed - in no way shows how beautiful Indian fine arts are either. I find the performance to be more of mockery of classical form of the art.
I don't honestly think that any girl of non-Indian descent would have been crowned Miss.India in India or for that matter in any other country. Sonia Gandhi is from the Gandhi family which is still India's first family. Gandhis family had been loved and kept on high pedestal by the people of India through her fight for independence and thereafter. They celebrated the family's political victories and mourned each time they lost a Gandhi to extremism through generations. And each time they elected someone from the family to succeed their deceased leader. Yet, because of her Italian origins, Sonia Gandhi is taking a back seat when it comes to leading the country unlike any other person from that family. And that decision is expected and respected by the nation and most leaders.
Each country has its own talent and people capable enough to represent and lead the country. It is important for America to remain America and India to remain India. Itd be lovely see people from any country to stand their ground and take pride and humility in what and where they are from and represent their own country in its originality with its strengths and setbacks. We dont want to see Miss. The Most Diverse Nation On The Planet, but certainly love to see Miss.America without having to miss America.
Lost me at ‘loose’.
You haven't been to West Texas. :-)
Wanna talk eclectic musical taste? I like Japanese Koto music too-even the singing. Learning Japanese that way too!
Yet I was born and raised in New Orleans and HATE jazz.
You need to get out of the city. The country is 3/4 empty, your state is closer to 4/5 empty. There’s still miles and miles of miles and miles out there, NOBODY is getting displaced.
There are no land giveaways anymore. The land you’re talking about is owned by Americans using it to feed & cloth the world.
No its not. Show me where you can build a house on land that isn’t already owned by someone?
Tell the people of Laurel, Mississippi they weren’t displaced when the only factory there kicked the Americans our in order to hire Somalians who worked for basically magic beans.
Put the need of your own people first for goodness sakes...
There’s 60 miles of blank desert between Tucson and Phoenix you’re more than welcome to. A whole bunch more going east, through Sierra Vista, onward to New Mexico and into Texas.
People getting replaced by cheaper workers aren’t displacement, it’s what happens when you’re not adding to the bottom line.
I put REALITY first, deluded diatribes that lack all facts and truth always go last.
I don’t know if I’m going tinfoil or what; but I don’t know a person who would possibly give a damn that a stunning woman of Indian decent won. This feels very fabricated to me, so people who have nothing else of consequence on their side can point and others and yell ‘racist’ - even though they are probably making up this tweets and posts. The fact that a person signed up on Sept 17 to post this specific crap doesn’t relieve my paranoia.
For a swimsuit she wore...a swimsuit.
This notion that she is not "American" is silly, if not down right stupid. Seriously, she is American, so she can win Miss America, case closed, sheesh.
I as a single male am not really attracted to Indian women, however if she’s Miss America, good for her. Her parents made it here just like everyone’s ancestors.
Let’s focus on the heart and WIN people to our side!~
You really haven't been to West Texas. :-)
With our crop yields getting higher and higher, the federal government is paying billions to farmer to not plant their fields (reducing the supply, and propping up the price).
My ancestors came to the US before it was the US, back in the 1600's and 1700's. Fortunately, it was before the occupants at that time said "No, we are full". The United States is still a long way from being "full".
Our problem is not lack of resources. It's the willingness to give cash and services to anyone that can make it inside the border. Even living in abject poverty in the US is an order of magnitude better than from where they came. That's what has to change: remove the incentive for someone to move here, just to go on public assistance.
“People getting replaced by cheaper workers arent displacement, its what happens when youre not adding to the bottom line.”
It’s what happen when a 1st world country is invaded by the 3rd world. Some are foolish and ignorant of history so they cheer it on and call it progress...That’s reality.
Now go thump your chest about much more tolerant you are than the rubes & hillbillies....
It is true that I’ve always thought DC Cheerleaders were overrated.
“With our crop yields getting higher and higher, the federal government is paying billions to farmer to not plant their fields (reducing the supply, and propping up the price).”
Doesn’t change anything I said. I know what “layout ground” is, I was born & raised in the Delta. Doesn’t mean the land is there for the taking for anyone who wants it.
No, it’s what happens when wages grow without the proper relationship to the value of the work. People get dumped for cheaper people all the time, often cheaper Americans. Often times people get dumped for machines. I don’t cheer it on, I don’t cheer the tide either, natural forces are natural forces and won’t change just because you find them inconvenient.
All part of the whole, right?
They had a couple other powwow vids out there from my ol’ stompin’ grounds and the impressive thing was the great respect accorded to present-day military vets, to veterans of past wars and to the U.S. flag in general.
The tribes in my home area have suffered mightily over the decades, in large part these days from all the ‘help’ given them by the feds.
But the families who have survived all the crap—including booze, drugs and handouts—are great patriots and often great warriors. May God bless them in these dark times and all the rest of us too.
Agreed. Agenda driven fabrication by anonymous tweeter twits.
Flood the market with cheap labor & wages go down. Happens in Mississippi or Ethiopia just the same. 3rd world immigration floods the market making life worse for those already here.
Not that you care about your own countrymen though....
