I clapped when I read it. With one hand.
Breaking Bad is more like a great novel because of the character development and the moral themes. You can see the plot hill. I think last night’s episodes was the climax. (I’ve had to help my daughter with plot hills recently).
My husband is the one who started watching it. I didn’t watch much at the beginning. I’ve been watching more recently because I think it’s fascinating to see all the characters transformations.
do things get better in the other seasons?

When the baby asked for Skylar, Walt realized the baby needs to be back with Skylar, but what’s the use of sending the baby back if Skylar will only end up in jail as one of his accomplices?
Walt needed to protect Skylar from this. Thus, the seemingly angry call telling her how clueless she’s been about his Meth business. He wanted the police who were listening to have the impression that Skylar had nothing to do with his business.
After the call, he broke down in tears after delivering those seemingly cruel, Heisenberg-style lines.
Also, Walt returned the baby to Skylar via the fire department.
He may have been mad, but all his unspoken actions (including his leaving) proved he wants his family to be safe after he disappears.

I watched Hell on Wheels right up until the episode (3 or 4 in I think) where an indian convert said to a preacher “I don’t think I have enough hate in my heart to be a Christian” and the preacher didn’t correct him at all. Done and F you Hollywood.

I believe last night was at least a literary crescendo.
Perhaps[?] even a tipping point from which Walt cannot recover.
He’s lost everything and everyone..so it seems.
But Jesse is still alive.
And there are all those pesky little “flash forwards” that show Walt in the future...tense.

If I had to bet, I’d say they’re gonna run this rabbit right up to the last 40 seconds of the last show, much like House did and then hit us with a “gotcha” that’s either going to really make us angry or laugh.
[if Skylar wakes up to find Walt in the shower and says she just had the craziest dream....]

I’m sorry to hear of your troubles, and, of course, at the same time uplifted by your chosen path.
The Bible says there is no excuse for sin; that we will all be judged before God for all our sins, and there will be no excuse. The Bible says, all fall short of the glory of God. Thus, once we become aware of our own sin, and admit it, only then can we see our need for Christ, our only hope and salvation. After all, if we had no sin in us - we would have no need for Christ’s atoning sacrifice.
The more we watch a show, the higher its ratings, and the more it stays on TV.
Most of those viewers are not influenced by it to go right out and commit crimes.
What if abused, helpless and innocent children are watching BB ? Can they walk a reasonably straight path as they tune in to watch their favorite show, BB, every week ?
Sorry kids, TV is all drugs, crime, pornography, violence and idiotic humor. Get used to it. Should we leave them to their own devices ? Or should we guide and teach them the “straight and narrow path” ?

Does what we do in our lives honor God, or defy his law word ? Are these TV shows godly ? Do we seek God or turn our back on him and his Law Word ?
And yet we are surprised when we live in a lawless and corrupt nation.

Ironically, there is a great actor on the show with cerebral palsy. I watched several seasons of it before learning that it wasn’t an act, that the actor was indeed disabled. There was a major character who is Hispanic / black. I don’t think there are any known gay characters. Plenty of American Indians and Hispanics; the show is filmed in New Mexico.
Its quite simply a classic story told through a modern lens.
Everything King Midas touched turned to gold but the cost was dire.

My son is the one that told my husband he should watch it.
My son and daughter haven’t watched it because they don’t have time (high school and college), but they both want to. A lot of their friends like it. I think my son will like it. I think my daughter will be more like me and skip through the early seasons, and watch the last season.
They are nice Christian kids, and I know they will want to talk about the downward spiral of the main character. I know my daughter and I will talk about the wife’s involvement.
Lots to discuss. You could compare it David in the Bible.
Yeah like that time when Skyler told Walt that she banged Ted only she did not say ‘banged.’ It was the F word loud and clear.
It was at that point when I questioned what network this was on before Netflix. I did not think that AMC had swear words because it has commercials.
Maybe they get silenced out on the broadcast but Netflix where I saw this program up until last week, the profanity was there, just not overdone gratuitously. Unless ‘Yo Bitch’ is still considered swearing these days.
They do drop F bomb on rare occasions (once or twice a season?), but it’s thankfully blanked out.
That’s one of the things I like about the show; its lack of graphic sex and filthy language.
