I just watched Oblivion on Blue Ray last night. My expectations were, I thought, too high, but I LOVED that movie, even though there was a lot of similarity in the end to the end of Independence day. ;-)

I went to the movies zero times this summer. It seemed that everything had a I II or III in the title. Maybe even VI! And none of the originals were even that strong. Think I’ll watch ZERO DARK THIRTY again tonight.....

4 of the 5 are sequels. That’s about right for Hollywood.
BTW, the non-sequel, Ender’s Game is from my son’s favorite book. I’ve read it and it is great. Hopefully, the movie will live up to the book.

Without a doubt, 2013 is shaping up to be a banner year at the box office so far. Led by Disney's Marvel-inspired Iron Man 3, which brought in $1.21 billion in gross ticket sales worldwide, audiences around the globe have spent a whopping $7.81 billion at the movies year-to-date. There's nothing our movie industry friends would like more than to institute a retro-active "Pay your fair share" windfall profits tax. Go for it Bamby!
