Sorry for your loss. My beagle, Ruby, is 15 1/2 years old and still kicking.

God Bless and ease your heart. It’s good to see others who take the responsibility to love and care for their pet-friends seriously. He is now a full-fledged Viking Warrior...

I’m so very sorry, Toespi. To be such little creatures, they leave such tremendous empty places in our lives. I’ll be sending prayers for your comfort.

Sit down some where private and cry. It helps, trust me I know.
I am a 63 year old former Marine; the only time I have cried since I was small child was when my old Rolly died.
Take some time to grieve;(took me 5 years), then go to the local county animal shelter and find another loving companion that some lowlife decided to throw away; because he or she got to big or to old or to what ever to keep.
I am now surrounded by my 4 beautiful boys and girls (2 of each); they keep each other company when I am not at home and get to mob me, and roll around on the floor with me when I get back.
Just one little hint. Don’t waste five years waiting; I will never forget old Rolly but life would be very poor without Jack, George, Honey and Sophie.

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your little friend.Prayers being said.

It seems so unfair that they don't get the time here that we get. But then again I wonder if that isn't one of the many beautiful lessons they are supposed to teach us-to savor each day that we have, and to try our best to love unconditionaly, as they do.

Again, prayers for comfort for you.

Sorry to hear about your beloved pet Maxwell. I worry that my wife and I will lose our friend Hershee. She is now 17 3/4 old, but she seems to be going down fast. then all of a sudden she is as lively as she was a year ago.

Just want to thank you all for your wonderful words, prayers and support. I sincerely want to express my thank you for the comfort each post gave me. I could not have been more blessed. One week later, Max has come home. His ashes are mixed with his beloved Snickers, our other little red dachshund, gone for six years. They are together as they always were, touching each other while laying in the sun. They are in a small, beautiful carved wooden box with their names etched on a brass plate. The crematorium sent a card with Max’s little paw print and a clipping of his hair. They are both home now and together.
