Miss Kansas Theresa Vail wants to break the stereotype that women with visible tattoos don't compete in pageants, so she showed off two of her own tattoos during the swimsuit portion of the Miss America competition on Tuesday (Sept. 10).

RE: Christmas Abbott pic
Color me confused... these days at least.
I guess it boils down to the certainty of physical gender, and the psychological disposition of gender... given she’s a female of course.
Beautiful lady. I hate tattoos. These days, tattoos don’t make you a bad person. They are very “in”. I still hate them and always will. This beautiful young lady is not as beautiful with the tattoo than without it.
There is no need to wear your motto on your skin. I believe in the 2nd Amendment but it is not as if I would believe in it more for having it tattooed across my chest. It is not like the commie lib politicians would start following the US Constitution just because I had it tattood on my back.
I hate tattoos. I wish this vulgar fad would die a rapid and fiery death.
And I hate women in the military. This lady is exceptional and I wish her all the success and happiness in the world. Still, I hate women in the military.
It is the old, “God grant me wisdom “ blurb.
God, grant me the peace to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
Great motto. There is no need to emblazon it upon ones skin. That is what bracelets are for, or plaques or necklaces or lockets. You don’t have to permanently stain your skin just to show your level of commitment.
It is a terrible vulgar fad and it can’t die soon enough. Odds are, it is now here to stay. Ugly. Makes a beautiful lady look less beautiful.
It's the Serenity Prayer.
At least the tat didn't say 'Bush is a War Criminal'.
Tough crowd.
its not about the age, although I agree you have to think about what this will look like in 30 years...
I just saw some tattoos that were way over the top- but they were all on one side of the body, and for some reason I didnt think it looked as bad.
So... anyone here contemplating a tattoo... ONLY one side of your body (for ALL)
So? I’ll bet you think they don’t do the Serenity Prayer in prison....
There’s still a Miss America pageant?
You think she got the tat while in prison?
No, I think it’s ugly as Hell, especially on a body as beautiful as that. Ruins her. And it looks like a prison tat to boot.
It’s like painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa.
I wish her well. She doesn’t seem to be one tied to the PC stuff out there.
Not impressed with some of the comments on this thread against the woman here. It makes me wonder how many guys on this thread are homos, not that there’s anything wrong with that.
I’ll give her a pass, but I’ll agree her body & face are a work of art.
She beautiful, can shoot a gun, bow hunt, and has military and medical training. I think she’ll be able to find a partner for the zombie apocolypse.
She is most certainly not guilty.
So? How is that any of your business? Millions of other young men choose to do things other than military service; are you going to single them all out too? Is military service the only valid way for a person to serve society?
Actually it’s the only way to get into combat while your nation is at war. You can do all the other employment or “service” or what-have-you afterwards. For me frankly, it is an indicator of character.
I get that. I don't agree, but I get it. What I don't get is what the Romney boys have to do with anything whatsoever. Why comment on them rather than the sons of Joe Nobody from Kansas?
Wonderful young woman... she has her head straight and will accomplish wonderful things in her life. My Grandfather was 40 years sober through AA when he passed away in 1996. He was a trooper for bring others to sobriety... children of those he helped (midnight to 3 AM calls randomly anytime) came to his funeral to show their thanks. This young woman has experienced something that connected her with this prayer... may God bless her and answer that prayer for her.
Because the Joe Nobody family wasn’t trying to paint themselves as patriots or ask to be put into a position where they could send better men than themselves into combat.
“Devolution of Society”...how very well put.
