I have several friends, fine people from good families, who have signed up to serve in the Navy and the Marines in recent years. But it must be hard for the recruiters to avoid enlisting gangbangers, since they dropped the draft many years ago and since then much of the country has gone further and further from its former values.
It can work, but the Basic Training Sergeants must have their work cut out for them. I guess it worked in the Foreign Legion, so hopefully it will work for us. And I must say that the Sergeants I had in Basic Training could probably have handled it.

It's a fad which will pass. Tattoo removal is becoming a high growth business these days.
As to tats on women, my wife once wanted one, but she could never figure out where to put one where it wouldn't seem ugly or misplaced to her. In the end, she gave up on the whole idea, which was fine by me.

Agree. The current culture's fixation on 'hard bodies' and the skinny boy look, are completely degrading to women. They're not made that way, and forcing that perverse standard on them is just suppressive.
Besides, most men aren't naturally attracted to that anyway.
Interesting that you brought up that “American Pickers” gal. I’d seen the show many times, and then there was an episode where (due to cold weather?) she was wearing clothing that covered up all those ugly tattoos. I noticed it was the FIRST and only time I even ‘noticed’ her. Her face, her expressions, etc.
Probably because when she’s on camera, and has all those gross tattoos on display, I think I instinctively avert my eyes from her. Because the tattoos on her (as with any woman) inspire such an intense revulsion in me. But that one episode I saw when she was covered up... I found myself actually ‘paying attention’ to her.
ALL tats say "this end up," no matter what they say, and no matter where they are.
Not that that's always a bad thing... LOL...
I hear you. I once briefly saw her dressed in a nice dress with collar and sleeves on the show. Man, she was simply gorgeous, and I noticed how differently I reacted to her in that moment.
She usually likes to show off her tats, which are distractive and ugly to me. I'm not quite sure how to react to her when she displays all her ink. I just know it's not attractive to me. Actually, it's kind of repulsive.
And I think Kat Von D would be pretty hot (well at least before her plastic surgeries on her face) without those tats on her.

Hmm.. Good point. I guess it is because I didn’t put someone with a tattoo in the same class as Sandra Fluke. Or it could have been because even though she has a tattoo I didn’t label her as some trailer trash. Or it might have been because I looked at her accomplishments and committment to our armed forces as being more important than a tattoo.
But that is just me. Now if Sandra Fluke had a couple of tattoos, I probably would be having a field day on this thread.
Most important thing to ask yourself is, would Laz hit it?
I don’t care if her tat is John 3:16 - some things just don’t go well with human skin. Permanent ink is one of them.

The gal does not look like a dyke, but dykes are plastered in tattoos. The more the merrier. Of course the “man” in the relationship has more than the “female”. But that’s not always the case. I’ve seen dykes plastered in tattoos over their entire body, with pieced lips and big rings in their ears, as big as a basketball. And of course most have purple hair. No self-respecting dyke will be found looking like a woman. In this day and age they all try to look freakier than the other.
