The stork that was detained by Egyptian police on suspicion of spying has been killed and eaten, days after its release.
Police detained the stork after a man saw a tag on it and caught it, suspecting it was a spying device. The stork had been tagged by zoologists to track its migration.
According to Nature Conservation Egypt, the White Stork, which they named Menes, was released into a conservation area in southern Egypt but flew to an island in the Nile where it was caught and eaten.

Stupid Egyptians. Everyone knows that only hummingbirds are used for spying. Their ability to hover then rapidly accelerate away allows for superior photography. They are too small to eat and hard to catch
I once worked at a company where they replaced the head of our department with a total crook.
He too would “ship in place” at the end of each month to boost our shipping numbers. He did many other egregious and nasty things.
We got him fired.
The next guy was a jewel, and things went very well with him at the helm.
