I miss America when men were supposed to be decent and good. I miss America when pregnant women were Not sent to the front lines in combat. I miss America when it tried to live within it's means and on a budget. I miss America when religion was considered to be good rather than to be suppressed.
My children miss America, when school lunches were OK and they didn't consider it vomit and went hungry for lack of calories. They miss being told to consider things for themselves rather than being told by the government.
My children will miss when government promoted one man, one woman to make good citizens instead of using those who jumped over our fences. My children will miss being able to choose health insurance for themselves and their families instead to be forced into useless, expensive and limiting govenment healthcare.
Lord, I miss America.
My mom came from Cuba in 1960 and she loved this country. She died almost 30 years ago. It would break her hear to see what’s become of the United States, her adopted country & mine.

Your brother is in my prayers.
How old is this?
The quote of the month is by Jay Leno: "With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"

Is Leno referring to the case in Boxborough, MA?
Yes. My parents would feel the same, I know.
Thank you Conor, you are so kind!
“I love love love Siriusly Sinatra radio.”
I have the radio in the living room and play it all day long. Yes, that station is great. Nancy’s show is one of my favorites, but I could swear they make sure not to play a lot of Dean Martin;) A little competition there between the two, lol. She wants her dad to come out ahead.
Whiners; it's all about them.
No, it predates Boxborough.
I think of that bike ride on Padre often, grateful for those experiences I had that no one else can every do. That trip also had me and friends going over to Mexican border towns to stock up on Kahlua because there was a limit of 2 bottles; we went over 3 or 4 times from Brownsville west. You can’t do that as easily anymore, either.
(and it beats the alternative ... LOLOL!)

Yes, Nancy’s show is excellent. She will sometimes play an album in its entirety. She is always a highlight. The live shows they played a month or so ago were exceptional.
Siriusly Sinatra is one of the reasons I gladly fork over my money for SiriusXM.
You looked so young and ‘free’ on that bike, it looked like great fun! Living where I do, South Padre has always been a family destination.
Memorial Day weekend just passed and all through the years we would go to my daughter’s place in Harlingen as it was the opening of White Wing Dove season. We ‘gals’ would go over to Progresso, Mexico to shop all day. It was the best of times, fun times, but the drug dealing killed the town and stopped tourism. I almost cry when I remember all those times.
Last year I cleaned out the liquor cabinet and gave several bottles of Kahlua away, but I kept the bottles that were of a ‘figure’, lol.
ping for later
The words “Miss America” have become a lamentation.
You were fortunate indeed, all of my grandparents lived out of state but came for visits. I had wonderful parents and did grow up during ‘better days’.
I have no doubt that you fill those ‘big shoes’ very well Conor. Family and friends that we love are what counts in life. Without that, life would be lonely indeed.
Here, use this. It’s what I plan on unless they find a way to live forever...
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid into heaven sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly shot and used up, totally worn out and defiantly shouting, WOOOOOOOO! what a ride!
