You looked so young and ‘free’ on that bike, it looked like great fun! Living where I do, South Padre has always been a family destination.
Memorial Day weekend just passed and all through the years we would go to my daughter’s place in Harlingen as it was the opening of White Wing Dove season. We ‘gals’ would go over to Progresso, Mexico to shop all day. It was the best of times, fun times, but the drug dealing killed the town and stopped tourism. I almost cry when I remember all those times.
Last year I cleaned out the liquor cabinet and gave several bottles of Kahlua away, but I kept the bottles that were of a ‘figure’, lol.
Nuevo Progresso was just a mud road village when I went there. Very primitive and poor.
Matamoros wasn’t half bad. I told you about us getting lost on foot there one night, right? Can’t do that today and live.
Harlingen fond memories. Spent New Year’s eve under a palm tree in a hot tub and drinking champagne.
