SPACE WEATHER FACT CHECK: Many readers are asking about a report in the Washington Examiner, which states that a Carrington-class solar storm narrowly missed Earth two weeks ago. There was no Carrington-class solar storm two weeks ago. On the contrary, solar activity was low throughout the month of July. The report is erroneous. The possibility of such a storm is, however, worth thinking about: A modern Carrington event would cause significant damage to our high-tech society.

Who cares about the facts, I would rather panic on the almost demise of civilization as we know it on false facts and innuendo. Who cares about facts today ... rather panic on something false that almost happened than trust facts. My heart can stand it. /s

Not only that, but this finally proves once and for all we need to invest billions more in settled anthropogenic global warming or cooling pseudo-science and shut down more industries to protect mother earth.
Modern low-information society is all too willing to believe any pseudo-science BS that is published anywhere. Critical thinking and analytical skills, including the ability to even do a Google search, is beyond the ability of most.
