New York. So hot right now, New York.
Today, in fact, is going to be even hotter than the past few days. The heat index a measurement that combines temperature with humidity to represent how hot it actually feels is expected to reach as high as 108 degrees. But when it gets this hot, not even the heat index can tell the whole story. That story can only be told through the strange happenings throughout the city, as reported on Twitter.

I wish they wouldn't use the "heat index". Give the temperature and humidity, and let people figure it out.
It is not 108 in NYC.

The same for “wind-chill factor”. All you need to do, to eliminate the “wind-chill” effect, is wear wind-breaking clothes, and turn your back to the wind (or wear a balaclava too). The “heat index”, or “humidex” is a little harder to escape. However, your A/C works much, much better at 90*, with a “heat index of 110*, than it would at an actual 110*. These “factors” are good for nothing but hype for weather reporters.

July has been pretty good so far. 1st week was in the low 80s. Last week was hot. This week back in the 80s and 90s. Currently 77 after the rain.

New Yorkers are a bunch of pussies!
Its 105 on the front porch right now and that’s in the shade.
105 at 2:16 pm, and that’s quite a bit cooler than yesterday.
