Any one see the Fiat Commercial 2014 "The Italians are coming"?

Posted on 06/29/2013 9:41:34 PM PDT by peteyd

I just saw 2 commercials on You Tube. One end with the woman saying this is going to be better than a(the) Revolution. Second one ends ,this is going to be better than the Tea Party. (sorry I am unable to post You Tube videos)

*shrug* It did have, as that year’s ads stated “Fully reclining bucket seats that turn into a cozy French bedroom after dark”...

The first one I heard say: this is going to start a revolution.

I heard “this is gonna be better than the tea party” too. I’ve seen the commercial several times. My initial reaction was to question if this was a dig at the tea party.

If the Italians are coming, I hope they're riding Moto Guzzis.

(Hopefully full dress Eldorados from the early 70's - we need more of them around!)

I saw that ad about “this is better than the Tea Party” just once. But most of the Fiat ads end differently with no such reference.

Now wait just a dog gone minute !!

I had a '74 X-1/9 and after I replaced nearly everything in the engine except the block (I did have that bored a bit as I recall) with aftermarket parts and changed the gear ratios it was great. Once that minor stuff was taken care of I also had 125 hp rather than the stock 72 and still got super gas mileage, almost thirty on the highway in fifth. And, it was reliable, too.

So you see, having a good Fiat is just a matter of taking care of a few little mechanical details.

Well, some minor interior stuff as well like the window raising and lowering mechanisms, the door locks, the seats, and the heater. Just little stuff, you know?

;-)

Ooooo. Lemmie find an Abarth catalog and call my mechanic (the arthritis in my hands means I can't do most of the work myself).

Actually, I'd like to but probably wouldn't get another one. Now if I could find a Toyota FJ40 with a Chevy 350 in it and a really solid body just like the one my wife totaled I'd start checking out how much I can get for a kidney on the black market and break the bad news to my son about his upcoming surgery.

For some reason… I just remembered,

My uncle had a '67 or '68 Camaro, and I could swear it had a 3 on the floor.

You are not mistaken about the three-on-the-floor. I remember those.

Standard models around then had three-on-the-tree, but floor-mounted was an option.

First time I saw it, they ended it with “better than the Tea Party.”

My antennae twitched immediately. Very strange thing to say at that point.

I thought it was strange to hear that reference.
Then went to you tube and found another version.
Yeah,I thought it was a dig on the Tea Party.

The Italians are coming? No difference than all the Syrians, and Mexican illegals coming. Everyone is welcome now. Come on over. Free phone, free health care, free everything. Come on in. Our tax payers will be happy to support all the lazies of the world. We love everyone. We want to support everyone. Homos, illegals, dimocrats, come on in.
