I came from hard times. But I remember good times too. Christmas indisputably a city affair. Homosexuals having the good sense to stay in the closet. Adultery was shameful, not something paraded on tv. TV shows where we were so careful to avoid offending, they would actually have twin beds, etc.

In those days we didn't even have air conditioning. Almost worth the price.

My 13-year-old nephew is visiting from Seattle, and while watching the news this AM he and I discussed the SCOTUS ruling concerning the sham some call gay marriage. Even at his young age he has been partially programmed with the liberal ideology. He asked me what was wrong with two people who love each other getting married. After a brief explanation of the definition of the word "marriage" and how the left has used debauchery to undermine the moral fabric of this nation and the its results he said he understood but told me he still thought gays should be able to live together.

He'll be here all summer and I am confident that when he leaves he will leave minus the liberal programming, or at least aware of the many, valid reasons why it should not be embraced.

WE can yearn for the good old days but time marches on and those with no moral-Judeo-Christian base will continue to metamorphisize into something “modern” as the verneer of civil society falls to the wayside.

Change is inevitable and moral decay will come to a slothfull society - it has always happened in history.

Those that “cling” to what was will be looked at as anachronisms but that's OK too because, in them, there is true value, respect and civility. There will always be higher value and moral plane so stick to what you believe in with the basic tennets of a good and wholesome life.

But don’t tell me it’s equal with monogamous heterosexual marriage, and don’t tell me it’s a good environment to bring children up in. And don’t force me or my kids to be exposed to it. You’re in tricky territory regarding a 13 yo. He might not/ or does know all that a gay union entails. Kids are exposed to so much.

In my experience with my 16 yo heterosexual, he is so grossed out by what he knows about gays, it’s a no brainer.

At 13, he probably does know a lot, but once they learn about the, er, um anal, thing, they usually run screaming. Sorry to be so graphic. That’s what it takes in 0bamaworld!
