Not watching so don’t know if this is true, but, sounds about right: Keith Murphy on Twitter: Natalie Morales just said, if Wallenda falls, “it’s likely fatal”. Likely? He’s 1500 feet in the air.
A fall probably would be fatal.
If it occurred before he got very far or near the other side, he could hit the rocks. Even hitting the water (river) at that velocity and distance would probably be fatal.
The fall would be 1500 feet. The ‘walk’ is about 1400 feet across.
Nik did say in an interview that if he starts to fall he will hold on to the wire and there are two helicopters that will try to rescue him off the wire.
