Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin turned to Facebook once again to express outrage at the reports of a 25 yr. Army veteran being punished for reading books by conservative authors Mark Levin and David Limbaugh.
Palin had a simple message for those in uniform: “We have your back.”
Calling it a “a battle between liberty and tyranny,” a play on the title of Levin’s latest book, Palin said she would love to see folks “reading more writings from patriots who pinpoint who is trying to kill our Constitution.”
In somewhat of a “call-to-action,” Palin added:
I’d love to see pictures of our troops reading any of these apparently “banned” pro-America books. Don’t show your face or name in the photo, perhaps just your liberty-loving hands around a liberty-loving book or hands on a radio dial tuning in to hear the aforementioned conservative leaders speak truth.

Whether you agree or disagree with this soldier’s opinions, I think we can all agree that the apparent retribution he faced for proudly reading certain authors is outrageous.
I’d love to see more of America’s finest, our men and women in uniform, along with everybody else proudly and boldly reading more writings from patriots who pinpoint who is trying to kill our Constitution. Americans obviously need to know why it’s imperative we don’t roll over and succumb to these attempts to fundamentally transform America into a populace of sheep merely grazing, and then atrophying, under tyranny. This IS a battle between liberty and tyranny, as the title of Mark Levin’s book declares. The authors and commentators mentioned in the article linked below will help more of our loved ones understand this by articulately explaining what the radical Left’s leadership is doing to our country.
Yes, if more citizens would hear and read Rush, The Great One, et al., the empowerment of the average person would provide the energy and encouragement to take a stand and proclaim, “No more!” It’s time. Troops – especially you – have fought for the freedoms enshrined in our Constitution. Your brothers and sisters have died in this battle to defend liberty. Please know that a grateful nation won’t let your sacrifices be in vain. We have your back.

I don’t recall anyone telling me what to eat or read during my Army service, which was under Presidents Carter and Reagan.

I only have this comment. “ The directive was not to be seen in, Uniform reading materials, not that you could not read them!
You could be seen reading anything you wish but not in Uniform. What you you think of a soldier reading the Communist Manefesto in Uniform at the bus stop? Some would think that this person was not with our Republic and will not defend our Nation when needed, some may think he is just expanding his mind! The Uniform expresses that you are an American that will defend it’s people above all costs! This is not about the content of a publication in hand, it is about the public display! All can complain all they want to, but, I remember my oath when becoming a valiant soldier designated to protect and defend the the Great Nation we call our home. And not to desecrate that Uniform in anyway. It’s only clothing but it is the heritage of all that came before you and those that have provided life liberty and freedom of all those trusted in your care!”
Unfortunately the worldview of a large swath of enlisted and reservists does not comport with taking the oath to heart as you obviously did.
Call it what you will, but most are there for the freebies or whatever they can milk out of it nowadays. The exception are people who want to really make a difference.
Or maybe it’s just that I’m cynical after seeing too much of it.

Maybe someone can post that picture of Obama walking along, maybe getting off Air Force One, carrying a communist book with his finger holding his place in it. The picture made the rounds a couple of years ago, but this is the place for it now.

Obama does not wear the Uniform of a proud and brave Soldier!
A Marine saluted him as required the other day and he did not return the salute!
For those that do not know that it is Military courtsey to Salute! As an enlisted man you have to Salute your superior which is mandantory but the return Salute recognizes you as an equal!
The Return Salute is more important than the initial Salute!
