I have been singularly unsuccessful (at this moment) at finding someone to help me for the 36 hours around my eye surgery. My “local” sister said flat-out “no” (and don’t get me started on THAT!) and I know of no one else that I wouldn’t have to pay.
Unless something changes in the next two weeks, there will be no eye surgery for me.
Basically, I have resigned myself to that fact. I just won’t try to drive at night, and I will make sure I have plenty of bright lights in the apartment.

I’m still gobsmacked by that waffle thing. I was surfing around the Cheezeburger site, and saw that...I’d heard of waffles and fried chicken, but cheezeburger?
Cheeseburger waffles might persuade me to eat!
I brushed Piper for an hour while DP took some people to Mass. She was very happy.
Anything cheesy, bacony and eggy gets my vote. Waffles are a bonus, and they served me well this morning! Along with coffee...Steak is good as long as it is well marbled.

Jake turned up at the door, but decided against coming inside when he saw Piper looking at him with an, “Oh, we chase these!” expression.
Yah...I figgered... Jake is a wuss of the First Order.
They’ll both be glad when Piper leaves. Bill is back from his haircut. Unfortunately, the ravening horde ate all the supper except some spinach.
As for the Ravening Horde, Morning will bring a commupance, of sorts. We are only as good as the things we eat. Bill will have to MAKE DO!
