You betcha and Good Morning, y’all! Gardening and veggie processing on the agenda today (zucchini and green beans). We also have enough stuff to do another burn in the fire pit, but maybe we should save that for tomorrow.... Anyway, have a gorgeous day and SYL

There’s a beaten path?

Seems to me that it was the one not taken...

	The Road Not Taken

	by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
	To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
	Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
	Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I’ve always found that poem interesting in that he says the roads are worn about the same, but then claims to have taken the one less traveled by.

I always took the poem to mean, “Don’t travel high.”

Poetic license?

Or just that he was from New England?

I think our low was 90. It’s 92, right now.
I’ve already gassed up the truck (for the month) taken it through the car wash, did my shopping at Walmart and sweated the entire time. There is moisture in the air, which means the monsoons are on the way.

This morning, I have two appointments, but I’m thinking of cancelling one. Lack of interest.

Unofficially, here, on Sunday at 4:30 PM, it was 127. Once it gets up to around 115, you really don’t notice the increase. What you notice is an increase in thirst, which means you are already dehydrating.

I check my tires often, and if there looks like any cracks are forming, they get replaced, no matter how long they have been on.

Blow outs because of heat damaged tires are not funny. They are deadly, expecially at high speeds.

This has got to be among the best-known, most-often-misunderstood poems on the planet. Several generations of careless readers have turned it into a piece of Hallmark happy-graduation-son, seize-the-future puffery. Cursed with a perfect marriage of form and content, arresting phrase wrought from simple words, and resonant metaphor, it seems as if “The Road Not Taken” gets memorized without really being read. For this it has died the cliché’s un-death of trivial immortality.

According to this author, Frost is commenting on how he will twist the facts in the future when he's telling the story.

There are too many buildings here, and too many slow moving people for a firearm of any kind, including a pellet/BB gun. My wimpy choice for pigeon removal is to contact the local health department and have them take care of it.

I chopped down all the trees between them,
And that has made all the difference.

There, fixed it.

I have to go sign the lease on a new apartment at 1:00, so I have to go to the bank and get out the exorbitant realtor’s fees and first month’s rent and so forth at noon.

I tried to put them off until 5:30 but Mrs. ArGee felt bad for the people who wanted to get away for the 4th.

I hate that. If I’m leaving town for any occasion, I’m never waiting for the last minute to take care of something I could have done two days earlier.

None of my business, but I think the realtor/rental agent was wrong in trying to force you to pay at their convenience. *Shet mah mouf!*

That was my thought, but Mrs. ArGee wants to be nice.

I told them I could just as easily wait until Friday morning, but our realtor was really wanting to get the lease signed. I guess she is afraid someone will sneak in and sign before we do and she’ll lose her commission. Those are pretty good here in NYC.

Back from The Salvation Army. Pat needed t-shirts for various themed activities at Boy Scout camp. We found an aloha shirt with ukuleles on it for “Hawai’ian” and a UNC shirt for “college sports.” Also, I got DP a “vintage” Jimmy Buffett concert shirt, from the “Far Side of the World” tour, 2002.

GAH! I hate the hard sell. If I feel it, experience it or see it coming, I’m as likely to tell them no dice as to be coerced. Just like what the gummint is doing...no way.
