This topic comes up occassionally, but now is as good a time as any to bring it up again.

I often wonder whether changing your handle on FR matters. I believe in the current environment that changing your handle is about as safe, sound, and secure as changing your password in certain instances.

I also know how well changing a username corrupts the database both for boon and bane.

No, I think there’s a benefit to being known by name.

After awhile, you get to know “I like this person’s posts, they’re probably worth clicking on”...

Changing your handle means starting from scratch in building up a reputation. Why start from scratch and waste the reputation you’ve built?
