Shakira Wants to Breast Feed Son Into His Teen Years
Andrew Breitbart's Big Hollywood ^ | 3 Jun 2013, 12:47

Posted on 06/03/2013 4:02:14 PM PDT by drewh

Shakira is a quick study when it comes to breast feeding her new son.

The pop star and reality show judge says breast feeding her new child, Milan, is helping her return to her pre-baby weight.

It's also allowing her to bond with her son, something she apparently isn't ready to give up any time soon.

“What has helped me a lot is breastfeeding (and) I’m so hooked."

"I think I’m gonna keep breastfeeding this baby until he goes to college because I can’t stop.”

Double edged sword.

Her teenage son will either be the most teased or the most envied kid in the school.

Milan will probably never come out of the house until he’s 7.

What kind of a mother would directly transfuse her body fat into her child just so she can look good again.

Where’s Michelle Obama on this one?

Pretty sure she was joking. She’s really cute. I like her. She seems humble and just plain sweet and funny from what I have seen of her on “The Voice” She has a funny sense of humor.

Yes, she almost certainly was joking—I’m amazed that more folks didn’t recognize that right away.

PS - Well, in case she isn’t joking I’m making myself available; it will help make up for my deprived childhood. I’m sure my wife would understand; oh hell, she’d never understand. So nevermind. I’m going up to bed and cry now.

Nope. Not unless the mother stops nursing. A friend of my wife nursed her son till he was nearly three. We were both weirded out by that.

No need to be weirded out; it’s actually quite natural and is still common in much of the world to breastfeed up until around age 3 or so.

I grew up in a town where a family with the surname "Utter" owned a dairy. On the front of the shirt, it said "Utter Family Diary" and the address. On the back, it said "See Utter Side".

In the non-PC days of old, everyone who had one wore it to High School; boys and girls alike.

A friend of my wife nursed her son till he was nearly three.

It's probably good for keeping her weight down. I'd think that she'd use a breast pump though, just to minimize the inconvenience.

You have to factor in the the actual functional intellect of a leftist before you can automatically presume hyperbole.

A ditz like this is quite capable of trying to breast feed her whelp well into the child's teen aged years, based on the advice of her vegetarian nutritional advisor, her alchemist, her masseuse, her Latin pool boy, and the psychic who does her horoscope.

This is ridiculous.

I fully expect msnbc to sensationalize a bit of hyperbole for best effect, but not Brietbart.

Oi.

Just in case you’re not joking: A nursing mother’s body burns extra calories to create breast milk. From experience, the weight loss benefit is a great incentive to nurse. While there is fat in breast milk, unless the baby has very serious metabolic issue there is no chance for a child to get fat from it. In fact babies with weight issues, and yes they do exist, are formula fed. If you’re not joking, sorry!

You know, I'm going to assume this was spoken in jest to show affection for motherhood and its joys. Shakira may not be a staunch conservative by any stretch of the imagination; but, I don't believe she is liberal kook either. She has a number of admirable qualities.

I have seen tremendously obese babies on just breast milk. I have seen thin formula babies.
