Don't kick a man while he's down. When an Intel employee sought help in removing a "Kick Me" sign from his back, he was kicked three times by a co-worker. That co-worker and another who joined in the kicking later lost their jobs because of the prank.
Intel workers secretly taped a "Kick Me" sign to the back of a co-worker as a prank, then kicked the confused man a number of times as employees at the Rio Rancho Intel plant laughed hysterically at the episode, according to a federal lawsuit.

LOL, now THERE is a guy who works hard for the money!
I detest practical jokes. They trigger a revenge motive in me.
"Hello, McFly!"
How old are these idiots?
Trust no one, document EVERYTHING.
Unfortunately, there is a corollary: "If you ignore coworkers' pranks, the coworkers will eventually find a prank that you cannot ignore."
For example, if they put some tacks on your chair and you shrug it off, one morning you will find a sewing needle embedded into your chair. Walk away from your desk for a minute and, upon returning, taste $something_bad in your coffee. Bullies can be very inventive if they are unopposed. Sometimes it ends up in murder, just because the bullies, being sadists by definition, wanted to push the situation just a little farther.
In this case Intel will have to part with a significant sum of money for allowing the hostile work environment to exist for so long. I am sure the guy complained to his boss, but that was ignored. If the guy also complained to HR and was ignored there as well, he won't need to worry about coworkers for the rest of his life.
Sounds like a whole lot of people need to grow up. The guys who lost their job deserved it for hounding this loser. The loser who also sued his job over it needs to grow up. There are things that require the courts, but this is well short of that level.
I didn’t realize that Intel had a policy of encouraging assault. If so, then they CERTAINLY deserved to be sued. If not, this guy should be pressing assault charges on his co-workers...and maybe suing them individually.
“Sad but true. Don’t trust anyone and keep to yourself. It’s even worse if you have to manage others.”
Even worse if they “look like America”. I’ve been hit on the racial end twice - no clue why, except maybe telling them that they were wrong on something.
Dumbass.

Oh fer Pete’s sake. Can’t remember the number of times I got hung with a tail or a sign back in the old days in a large factory. I just found out who did it and got them back in kind. People today are such fags.
If it happened to me, I’d be telling HR I was gay and asking for my out-of-court settlement.
Putting a "kick me" sign on someone's back may qualify as a prank but actually kicking someone is assault.
If they were too dumb to know that then they were too dumb to have jobs.
Americans are becoming extremely thin-skinned and quick to run to the lawyer’s office.
I worked in some rough and heavy manufacturing work long ago. A man kicking another man there may have likely been killed for it.
You are correct...it’s about 20 years ago. I rebuff attempts at “teambuilding” and such. Admin asked me recently why a reasonably friendly and outgoing person like me doesn’t go to lunches and things like that, and usually attend meetings online and on the phone. I told her I’m anti-social. She was insistent so I just told her I’m much better in very small quantities, leave it at that. They can make me isolate myself, but they can’t make me be sociable.
There are too many “career-enders” out there. Years ago it was physical danger you had to be afraid of, and there were too many “widow-makers.”
I know what you mean.
I worked my way through college on a concrete crew. That's a rough bunch. Several "practical jokes" were immediately addressed with quick and violent resolutions. As one "colleague" back then found out, hitting a guy in the nuts from behind with a float while he is bent over finishing the edge of a slab is cause for a spinning cross hook to the upper left cheek bone and a kick in the ribs once your down.
Andy immediately learned that wasn't as funny as he had imagined it would be. Of course the boss just yelled at us for screwing around. No Police, no lawyers, no HR and no first aid. Everbody just went back to work.
Other lessons learned....
1. Spitting water on someone can get your a$$ thrown into a footer trench.
2. Farting in someone's face might get you an iron form stake to the shin.
3. Screwing with someone's truck could get a tire slashed on your own vehicle.
Where have all the adults gone?
Yes. Well said.
