WASHINGTON - In the midst of the Cold War on several occasions, nuclear missiles at US Air Force bases were mysteriously shut down, according to US servicemen who said they witnessed the failure of the heavily guarded missile systems.
But they don't blame America's Cold War enemy, the Soviet Union; they say aliens from space did it.
"This was something Russia could have developed, but it turns out they didn't develop this and we don't have it either - to be able to shut down nuclear weapons with a beam of light," David Scott, a former sergeant in the US Air Force, told RIA Novosti at a conference in Washington on encounters with extraterrestrials.

I have a question. If I traveled through time wouldn’t I just show up in empty space considering not just the movement of the earth but also the solar system as a whole?
“An alien race millions of light years away, manages to warp thru space at faster than light speeds, avoid asteroids, the pull of other planets, escape the effects of solar radiation, manage to feed and hydrate their crew, decelerate and enter our atmosphere after performing a navigational miracle to get here, avoid burning up on entry, and...
then spend all their time abducting people to check out their *ssholes.
Pretty weird, huh.
That is awesome!
Serious question for everyone.
Personally I think Aliens are possible. No Idea why they would dow what is claimed and that’s not the point. I also make more than a few alien jokes as well so I am not a fanatic either way.
I am curious who here thinks that in a universe as big as ours, why some people think that it’s impossible and that we on earth already know all there is about science.
It is, actually, and knocking out electronics wasn’t all they ever did. There were some pretty much more final demonstrations.
So you believe the alien race will speak English?
You yoohoo too?
My yoohoo no choochoo - ees booboo, need newnew.
I prefer Stargate, esp. Stargate Atlantis, where we unhesitatingly wage genocidal war against evil aliens in defense of our allies and our growing interstellar empire.
Yeah, I’ve read up on it a bit; but you can’t mention it here on FR or you’ll get the big razzberry.
There’s quite a few coming out of the military and science communities claiming a spiritual or even satanic component to these things. A battle for mankind’s soul, as it were.
*snort*
Heh, that reminds me of a character in that cheesy '70s sci-fi sitcom starring Richard Benjamin: "Quark". One of the ship's officers was named Gene or Jeanne, depending on whether the male or female personality was present at the time.
Today, the suffocating blanket of political correctness would prevent such a character from ever getting a green light in Hollywood.
I’m still waiting for an explanation of these lights...

(Ignore the clueless gals yacking — for the 1st 60 seconds)
Drug test overdue.
It’s not hot news anymore. since Hynek and co managed to swampgas it all out of existence. Mufon still exist though, just chugging along. And some of the Hessdalen events actually look like close encounters of the third kind; with hundreds of participants and two or three full film teams.
Do you follow this kind of stuff?
I seem to recall a year or so ago, there was some guy, I think in CA or AZ who was recording small, very fast moving objects zipping through his neighborhood.
They weren’t visible to the naked eye, but he picked them up on his camera after slowing down the motion. IIRC, some local tv news agency got involved.
But I never heard what the result was. Do you have any idea?
Pure unadulterated garbage.
Yes you would. This is why "time machines" also have to have the capability to travel through space. Time travel puts you back (or forward) in time in the same position relative to the universe. If you travel far forward in time, the expansion of the universe puts you quite far from where you started. Going back to the exact second you left puts you back physically where you started. Even a jump of just a couple years can cause a lot physical displacement.
This is overcome by doing multiple time jumps, very quickly in succession, while simultaneously moving in physical space, effectively keeping up with the expanding/contracting universe. The math requires a quantum computer.
The video in question, however is not fake (at least as far as the brainiacs at the TV station were concerned)
I remember when this happened — though I did not see it. And there were people calling in to report that whatever it was was zig zagging and changing colors -- as the home video shows.
What is odd though is that most TV coverage of the event that you find on the net shows video of an conventional meteor. That is obviously NOT what the video shows. Whether it is still am meteor or not — I don't know.
But I mention this because it reminds me of a rarely discussed aspect of the Phoenix Lights event. There were actually TWO sets of lights.
The video of the lights with which we are most familiar (the bright arc of lights hanging in the air) was made AFTER the first set of lights had passed over the city. The first set weer also videoed. — but it is darn near to find that footage on the net. It is grainy, possibly cell phone video) of a v shaped formation of lights moving across the sky.
So...why two different sets of lights? Why two two different “meteor” videos?
Beats me!
