Well ... if you have a mystery stud on a bourbon farm with five mares, things are gonna happen.

The gestation period for a horse is about 11 months, so the stud which Montavon nicknamed Mystery Man had been on the farm for at least that long without her knowledge. She's a total idiot.

These unexpected ofspring were once known as “wood’s-colts”.
The wind blew it in.

'Mystery' Horse Impregnates Five Mares on Bourbon FarmSo that's five according to the headline.
a colt born to the mare Goldie and a filly born to Mert.
That's two.
He'd apparently been busy, because at least five other mares were pregnant.
That's five plus two, or seven.
A sixth mare, Snuggles, had a dead foal inside her,
Wait, six? That's eight by my count. I hate journalists.

If she can go a year without noticing an extra horse, then she has enough horses and money to deal with the results. But I think it is all BS. No way someone goes a year without noticing a stud mixed in with 20 mares!
WTF,O! Does she never have anyone out giving shots, or trimming feet, or even just looking? “Golly, that mare is built like a horse...got a 2 foot long pimple on her belly!”

People that own horses that shouldn’t. I bet the people that own the mares hadn’t even curried one of them in the last year.
