A first-ever vaccine created by University of Guelph researchers for gut bacteria common in autistic children may also help control some autism symptoms.
The groundbreaking study by Brittany Pequegnat and Guelph chemistry professor Mario Monteiro appears this month in the journal Vaccine.
They developed a carbohydrate-based vaccine against the gut bug Clostridium bolteae.
C. bolteae is known to play a role in gastrointestinal disorders, and it often shows up in higher numbers in the GI tracts of autistic children than in those of healthy kids.
More than 90 per cent of children with autism spectrum disorders suffer from chronic, severe gastrointestinal symptoms. Of those, about 75 per cent suffer from diarrhea, according to current literature.

What would Jenny McCarthy do if there was a vaccine that reduced autism by 50%?
“But, but - vaccines CAUSE autism!”/s
What exactly is autism? They keep changing the definition.
Indeed.
Jenny McCarthy’s head asplode. :P
I’ve also heard that autistic kids respond to antifungal meds such as those which treat systemic yeast infections. That some of these kids are born to mothers who took antibiotics in pregnancy, and fungal infections are a frequent side effect of antibiotics and is why the kids respond to antifungal treatment. Systemic yeasts are frequent intruders to the gastro intestinal system which is why a person is encouraged to eat a lot of live culture yogurt after the antibiotic treatment is completed. The gut needs to have it’s balancing bacteria restored. Plain, unflavored, live culture yogurt is also sometimes used to treat candidia yeast in women.
I wish I could site a source, but it was something that was on television a couple of weeks ago.
My kids haven’t yet received their CDC recommended allowances of intravenous human diploid cells, monkey kidney cells, mercury, and monosodium glutamate. Why would I push this into their tiny, developing bodies as well?
Interesting because this bacteria was the focus of a documentary called “The Autism Enigma”. Documentary is worth a watch. I have a 14 year old autistic son. :)
According to many here your son is not autistic, just like mine doesn’t have mild ADHD. We are actually just incompetent single mothers who simply need to spank our boys and/or just let them be boys. Too bad I’ve been married to only one man, to which I’m still happily married, who also happens to be the father of our children who came along long after we said I do. But I digress. Have you pulled your son off of dairy? We are amazed at what a difference it has made in our son. We are not even considering meds, but too each his own. My daughter recently and quite suddenly developed asthma. We pulled her off dairy and it has since disappeared. I highly question our modern food sources.
Promising news.
My goodness, where do you dig up bilge like this? And why do you fall for whoever is spewing it?
Almost all of the cells in your body are diploid. That means they have two sets of chromosomes.
Vaccines do not contain live cells of any kind.
If thimerosal happens to be present, the level of mercury is less than the amount you would get eating an average portion of fish. It's way below the maximum safe exposure limit.
Glutamate is a normal component of all food. It's an amino acid. Proteins are made of amino acids. You eat proteins.

It’s not “bilge.” She has a right to have an opinion.
And I think you owe your fellow Freeper an apology.
Thanks for posting. My son has all the symptoms and has had them since infancy. (he is 37 now) And he has had milk alergy issues since infancy too.
If this works this would be a real blessing.
Clostridium bolteae, belongs to the Clostridium genus, that has about 100 prominent members, several of which are very dangerous diseases, like botulism, tetanus and the antibiotic resistant disease C. difficile.

I read the ingredients in the vaccine package. That’s where I got the info. Are you suggesting that the vaccine manufacturers are lying about the ingredients? By the way, the human diploid cells are from two different aborted babies and while glutamate is in many things, MSG is very dangerous. We found out about it years ago when my dad was hospitalized with A-fib. He had Chinese restaurant syndrome, or MSG exposure. We’ve discovered our kids are very sensitive to MSG also. Your decision to push these things into your kids is fine with me, so please don’t judge my decision.
The anti vaccine people got it all wrong by blaming one vaccine. Gulf War Syndrome was studied, and new theories involve the interaction of vaccines. Soldiers were given all their vaccines in one day. These grown healthy adults, a certain percentage developed many symptoms that stumped the VA doctors. The soldiers were all healthy until they took their vaccines before overseas deployment.
One vaccine will not make a child autistic, but hitting them with 14 to 28 vaccines before they attend K grade is another story. Gov and drug companies swear it is impossible to do a study because Americans are mobile and move all over. Interesting to note no one thought of studying the autism rate amongst the Amish. Amish autism rate is 1 per 15000, while modern US is 1 per 88 thru 150 (depending on source). Younger Amish families are starting to accept some vaccines for their preschool kids. Be interesting to track their future autism rate.
There are supposedly two varieties of autism; one that has roots with gut flora and one that has roots in brain abnormalities. If that is indeed the case, I can understand why some children have adverse reactions to vaccines and some don’t. There’s an article/interview on the Dr. Mercola website with a doctor who claims to have cured her child of autism with a certain food protocol she follows.
Really? Really really? Wonder why I've never seen it.
Of course, 75 percent of all kids suffer from diarrhea at one time or another, so maybe that's what they mean.
Autism is a brain disease, and has many causes. Nowadays what we once called "mental retardation", Mental retardation with behavioral problems, "Childhood schizophrenia", "Post encephalitic dementia" etc. is now called "autism". Reminds me of how all sorts of mental problems were once called "schizophrenia".
Lol, well those who claim he’s not autistic and that I’m incompetent are free to come take care of him for a week while I go relax...oh wait a minute, do they want my brain injured combat vet husband too??? Oh, can they fix DNA, chromosomes, and genetic material too? Because my son has a chromosome deletion on the long arm of his 6th chromosome at 6q15, which is pretty rare. I’m in a group on Facebook of parents of children with chromosome 6 issues (deletions, duplications) and parents with kids that have a deletion in the same area as my son have autistic children. So, the naysayers are more than welcome to stop by in our facebook group and tell us it’s all in our heads. :)
Same here, son is child of my husband...married almost 17 years now.
He doesn’t really eat dairy anyway, so not really an issue.
God bless you and your family!
