Yeah, I know what you mean about Morgan Freeman, but it was an enjoyable movie. And even though Tom Cruise is pretty dopey in real life, he still does a really good job.

Read “Going Clear”; the most recently expose of Scientology.

You might change your mind about Cruise, the man.

Thanks for that. I’m looking forward to it, since a really well done science fiction movie is rare. I just ordered “Daybreakers”, which is a combination sci fi and vampire movie. I saw part of it on TV, but the timing wasn’t convenient for me. Still, it was interesting enough that I wanted to see it all. It had good photography and special effects, as well as good acting.

I quit watching Tom Cruise after his role in Taps. Oblivion is on my list to see. I'm a sci-fi fanatic and a mild asthmatic.

Is it worth springing the extra for IMAX over a standard screening?

All of those men played convincing tough guys.

hey, Audie Murphy wasn't acting. He was demonstrating the real thing. "To Hell and Back" was sanitized for Hollywood - the real story was just too gritty and edgy for the movies. As was the real Murphy. "Tough Guys" is just a euphemism for "pretend tough". The depression and war produced some of the toughest Texans ever, civilized folk who were hardened to a degree not seen since the Romans.

I know a bunch of Army SF guys. Nothing special in terms of height/weight. Normal guys. They say that’s who tends to pass Selection. Some guys get huge after they pass, but not during the course.

Sounds like everyone likes this one.

He’s a good actor, it’s a shame he’s in that cult.

Wife and I saw it on Saturday. It was pretty good. I’ve seen much worse, for sure. Not a glowing endorsement, I know, but it didn’t exactly blow me away.
