Just when Swedes were getting their hopes up for some spring sunshine, Sweden's weather agency SMHI issued a warning that twenty centimetres of fresh snow may fall over the weekend.
SMHI issued a class 1 weather warning - meaning weather conditions may involve some risks and disruptions - for the west-central regions of Värmland and Dalarna.
Twenty centimetres of wet snow is expected to fall in the region between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning and the rest of the country will see stormy weather over the weekend, too.
"It is mainly the northern parts of Värmland and Dalarna that may see some snow, but the south-western parts of the country may also get heavy rainfall," Mariann Aabrek of the Storm weather agency told tabloid Expressen.
The snow clouds heading towards the mountain region of Dalarna on Friday morning came in from Denmark and look set to move south on Friday afternoon.
The stormy weather is expected to reach central and northern parts of Sweden on Saturday.
But the clouds may have a silver lining. Sunday will bring milder weather and some sunshine, with temperatures expected to reach 10C in southern Sweden.
However, don't put the rain jackets away just yet. SMHI predicted that the clouds will return on Monday, though it looks unlikely that there will be more snow.

Sounds like what we call spring in these parts, too.
Gore must be in the area.....
If this Global Warming doesn’t stop soon, we’re all going to freeze to death.
Pray for America to Wake Up
Looks like “Global Warming” is NO match for “The Swedish Spring!”
I was there last Feb/March and saw little snow....but locals in southern Sweden told me it is not unusal to go snow-free in winter. The mountains and the north have snow most of the year
summer without a summer repeat? At least they can ski!
The Swedish bikini team are deeply saddened.
Minnesota Twins baseball game postponed today. Snow and 30 degrees with wind up to 30 mph.
Got a foot of snow here in Duluth Friday. Supposed to get another 6-8 inches tonight. Got snow storms lined up every couple of days all next week. (average highs this time of year here are mid 50s).
Well, last spring was freakishly warm and we here believe that nature will balance it’s books.
Good to know they are having a nice globull warming spring just like we are in Fairbanks! I was riding motorcycle last year this time. At this rate it won’t be another month before I ride.
At least Sweden has a gazillion illegals there that can shovel the snow for them to earn their social benefits - yeah, right.
The stupid jet stream is effing the northern hemisphere this spring.
That makes me deeply saddened about the Swedish bikini team!
Seriously, I had just posted this on a related thread that Ernest on the Beach posted about Britain’s weather:
“Please look up John L. Casey. He has a website. Was a scientist that worked for NASA. He recently wrote a book entitled Cold Sun. I read the book and it just blows the whole GW religion to tatters. He goes into great detail in the book about sun cycles. He maintains that in 2007-08, we entered into a 2-3 decade of the sun going into hibernation causing the cooling of the earth in that time frame. It is not only Britain but the entire planet which will be affected. These solar cycles run every 206 years. He found that there are other prominent scientists across the world who have been trying to warn governments for the past 10 years but have been squelched by the GW crowd.”
Sorry....that’s Ernest_at_the_beach.
If we had some global warming....
