I just spent alot of time posting!
I see that, looks like you hit a small bump.
Pictured: Small Bump
What happened?
Well, someone set up us the bomb?
I'm serious!
Oh, well.. looks like your post got pulled.
Augh! I spent alot of effort on that! How did it happen?!
Couldn't be because you were doing it wrong?
What the, how'd you get that video of m-- uh.. I don't even wear that!
Right Skippy. *cough* Well, since you asked, here's how posts get removed.
First, if it is against TOS it gets seen.
Then it gets marked.
Okay, I have that much.
Then the mods gather:
Pictured, mods gathering.
I don't think that's how it looks, I..
Look, do you want an answer or not?
...Yes?
Right, carrying on.
Then they back their vehicle up to your post.
Whoah! What the heck is that thing?!
It's a machine, that eats other machines.
With this:
I don't see what this has to do with my post vanishing, can you tell me wha-
Watch it question boy! I have a flamethrower!
You want to vanish like your dog did?
What the?! No, not Roozer too!
To be fair, your dog WAS drunk.
What?! Who would even... please don't point that flamethrower at me.
Right, and after they saw your post off the entire forum, they set it on fire.
Wait.. that man. His face, and fire! Oh GOD WHY?!
Oh, HIS post was all about his face, so the mods set it on fire.
After that, they used the ashes to open a gate between our world and theirs, like this:
BLECH! That's horrible!
And those tentacles! GAAAH!
If you think that's bad, you should see what happens when the mods get their hands on a bad thread.
Pictured: Mod hands
Oh look, here comes a mod now.
Looks like they want to ask you about that thread you just posted.
Gaaah! Tell them I'm indisposed!
Pictured: Moderator, dunno which one.
Tell them yourself, they're right behind you.
Wait, don't run away!
We haven't gotten to what happens when they edit your thread title!
This concludes our sordid fictional tale.
If you liked that, we have plenty more in the book "Oh the horrible things you'll summon!" rumored to be written by IamnotaMod
That’s not “The Corsican Brothers” with Cheech and Chong, is it?
Nothing scares Tom, of course, but it does fix the names and some details of various historical characters in his memory. Not the big ones like George Washington, but many other Revolutionary officers on both sides are featured in the game, and if they happened to die during the game’s time frame, they were usually assassinated as part of the multi-century Assassins v. Templars conflict.
Hi, Tax-Chick! It’s good to see you, too, and it’s good to be back!
Barbara Stanwyck is one of my favorites!
I remember hearing that she was liked very much by her co-workers.
I had seen this thread and had not stopped by yet, and when I saw Stewart and Grant, well, where better to post than this thread?
:-)
No way! LOL!
I saw them in some pirate movie with Madeline Kahn, and thought I would die laughing. “Stagger-stagger-stagger; crawl-crawl-crawl...”
Everyone quoted in the book says that film crews loved Barbara to death - she took them seriously as professionals, got to know their names and asked about their families, and so on.
Other actors said she was a total professional, always completely prepared, no delays and no drama. Some said “coldly professional,” but there’s nothing really wrong with that, either. It is a job, after all.
What is the name of the book?
Sounds like one to add to my summer book list.
Tom will, one day, know fear. It will sneak up on him and hit him broadside. He needs to round out his abilities in Real Life in order to prepare for the Things To Come.
With that aside...he may find a job as an History Professor. (Did I say that properly?)
This is not a game. This is avatar building.
That is just wonderful Face!
What a nice Son. :-)
Happy Mother’s Day!
I have access to a DC motor. If I were to hold a magnet just above the motor, would it float in the air?
TC, how did Tom do on his driving test?
This is more of a “life” than I have ever had. I mean, where else can I live the fantasies of a library built to specs, a “widow’s walk” where I can listen to the skirl of pipes when I need them, or live in a Flying Castle that is inhabited by the best people that have ever lived?
Where else can I be myself while not really being myself, and enjoy every minute of it?
And where else can I find a “village” where folks are not only tolerant, but encouraging? The Undead Thread is all that. And more.
It is where I come when my heart, mind or body are wounded and I need the comfort of people who have known me for at least ten years.
It is a place I can never abandon and never explain to those who do not know of its existence.
A magnet by itself would be strongly attracted to the unlike magnetic poles of the motor, and to the ferro-magnetic material in the motor casing and shaft.
If the magnet has more strength of attraction than the weight of the motor, then yes, the motor will float in the air (be held up by the magnet).
I don't know where you might get one, but something that would be fun to play with, is a magnetic bearing. I see bearings all the time. Cars are full of bearings.
But there are two types of bearings that are almost frictionless. One is the "air bearing", which introduces a layer of air on the bearing surfaces, to reduce friction. Many small wind turbines use this feature.
The other frictionless bearing is the magnetic bearing. Terrestrially, you may encounter them in flywheel energy-storage devices. The flywheel spins in a vacuum, so the bearings have to operate in a vacuum as well. Magnetic bearings can do this.
The other place to have magnetic bearings is in equipment that operates in space.
Magnetic bearings work by placing all their "North" facing poles pointed at each other. The repulsion keeps them apart, and their movement is very low in friction.
Thanks!
I’m still trying to see my GGbaby, but all attempts at contact have gone awry. I don’t know the problem...just that I am out of The Loop. So I will bide my time.
Mother’s Day is for Mothers, and I AM one, so nothing can take that from me! I am also a grandMother and a great-grandMother, and since I am aware of it all, the rest is in the category of, “What goes around comes around.” I do NOT want to be the recipient of THAT!
HUGS!
And Happy Mother’s Day, Gramma!
Not bad, but not well enough. He can try it again in a week, if I feel like it.
“Barbara Stanwyck: The Miracle Woman,” by Dan Callahan.
It covers every film in some detail, with just glimpses of her personal life once she started making movies ... but the movies are the reason we’re interested!
Owrd? Sword? Gee.
I bet your Grandma would just love you to pieces!
Pay no attention to the Typsos generated when Darks is online. It’s his innate magnetism...
It’s temporary. :o])
Does anyone go straight to The Creator and cut out the middleman?
Only if they die.
