What Happened When The Mods Pulled My Post?
About a quart of Gin ^ | April 9 2013 | A Demented Mind

I just spent alot of time posting!

I see that, looks like you hit a small bump.

Pictured: Small Bump

What happened?
Well, someone set up us the bomb?
I'm serious!
Oh, well.. looks like your post got pulled.

Augh! I spent alot of effort on that! How did it happen?!
Couldn't be because you were doing it wrong?
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

What the, how'd you get that video of m-- uh.. I don't even wear that!
Right Skippy. *cough* Well, since you asked, here's how posts get removed.
First, if it is against TOS it gets seen.

Then it gets marked.

Okay, I have that much.
Then the mods gather:

Pictured, mods gathering.

I don't think that's how it looks, I..
Look, do you want an answer or not?
...Yes?
Right, carrying on.
Then they back their vehicle up to your post.

Whoah! What the heck is that thing?!
It's a machine, that eats other machines.
With this:

I don't see what this has to do with my post vanishing, can you tell me wha-
Watch it question boy! I have a flamethrower!

You want to vanish like your dog did?

What the?! No, not Roozer too!
To be fair, your dog WAS drunk.
What?! Who would even... please don't point that flamethrower at me.
Right, and after they saw your post off the entire forum, they set it on fire.

Wait.. that man. His face, and fire! Oh GOD WHY?!
Oh, HIS post was all about his face, so the mods set it on fire.
After that, they used the ashes to open a gate between our world and theirs, like this:

BLECH! That's horrible!
And those tentacles! GAAAH!

If you think that's bad, you should see what happens when the mods get their hands on a bad thread.

Pictured: Mod hands

Oh look, here comes a mod now.
Looks like they want to ask you about that thread you just posted.

Gaaah! Tell them I'm indisposed!

Pictured: Moderator, dunno which one.

Tell them yourself, they're right behind you.

Wait, don't run away!
We haven't gotten to what happens when they edit your thread title!

This concludes our sordid fictional tale.
If you liked that, we have plenty more in the book "Oh the horrible things you'll summon!" rumored to be written by IamnotaMod

LOL! I never did. I just like to talk about stuff. Before FR, I was on some email discussion lists and one other website, but now this is the only place I really hang out. I read articles/commentary at a few other sites, but I don’t post.

Tom is currently playing Assassins’ Creed III as much time as we’ll let him, but he’s nagging for other games. He needs to be spending more time on schoolwork, if he wants me to write him a transcript saying he’s completed the requirements for admission for the UNC system.

Yepper. The very one. I said, “You wait ‘til I’m almost 70 to send me flowers for Mother’s Day???”

All the changes in the email programs make it difficult for me to send any photos with any accuracy. It’s even difficult to post them from photobucket. Frustrating.

Anyway, James and James should have a lot of fun with the LOTR Legos. I know I would! LOL!

Tell yer mum I said “Happy Mother’s Day!”

Did you ever get the computers/keyboard/reptiles moved around? I’m sure that will frustrate the resident War Monger.

It should cut down on the stress for you, for sure!

No, we haven’t started the moves yet. Step One will be choosing some furniture for the computers.

Tell Tom that he seems to enjoy the game so much that you hired a real assassin to test his skills. When he finishes the course requirements for 2013 you’ll pay the guy off and Tom can get back to games.

LOL!

He’s learned a number of rude phrases in Italian from the earlier iterations of the game, and now it’s playing in the American Revolution. It is amusing, some of what they do. His character killed a dog, and a popup said, “Your ancestor never killed domestic animals!!!”

He said the writers studied the period, and if any real historical character is assassinated in the game, it happens at the location and on the date of the person’s actual death.

Whoa! That has to be a scary learning experience!

Not to change the subject, but -

my favorite scene of “The Philadelphia Story”!

Jimmy Stewart (inebriated) visits Carey Grant!

“C.K. Dexter Haven, you have unsuspected depth!”

Adorable!

“Can’t you?”
“No, I can’t you.”

I remember a move called “Start The Revolution Without Me.” It was pretty funny. It was set during the French Revolution. One of the running gags was the timeline that the narrator (Orsen Welles) would occasionally give us. It would be totally obscure, such as “Later that week, 1789.” The one thing each timeline had was the year, 1789.

The movie was funny, but thanks to the movie I will always remember the French Revolution took place in 1789.

Video games could do something like that. Set a task in George Washington’s army that requires you know the history of the Revolutionary War to succeed. For example, don’t accept help from a man named Benedict. Don’t go through Saratoga during the battle. Things like that.

When I saw it, it was “Don’t Start the Revelution Without Me,” and Donald Sutherland played the dual part of a gay prince and a pirate? Cad? Ne’er do well?

It has since changed its name, I think, but I’m not interested enough in it to do a search.

Sounds like the same movie. Gene Wilder played his “twin” brother - the two were the Dukes du Corsica and a pair of yellow-bellied peasants in Paris. Somehow they got mixed up with each other when the Dukes were on their way to help Louis the XIV at the palace and, well, the rest is history.

Wacky history, but history.

Yep. That’s it. But it has changed names several times.

The only line I recall from it is Donald Sutherland saying, “And I...shall be Queen!”

OHYAH! Funny movie!

There was Louis XIV saying, "They told me it was a COSTUME ball."

But the best was when the peasant Gene Wilder went into a room in a monk's habit (he was trying to hide from palace intrigue) and the Duke Gene Wilder's wife was in the room dressed as Bo Peep and the room was full of sheep. She was horrified and kept saying, "You said we'd do 'Little Bo Peep' tonight. I didn't know you wanted to do 'The Monk And The Nun'. You said it would be 'Little Bo Peep.'" She was clearly distraught.

Yah! I remember that! If I ever sign up for Netflix again (money famine at the moment) I will put that movie in my queue!

Long time no see! Welcome to the Undead Thread again.

I’ve been reading a biography of Barbara Stanwyck this week. It’s mainly about her movies, so it’s full of great lines. I’ll be looking on Netflix for some of the author’s favorite films, even though he’s a bit of a bat.
