Should you find it, I’m sure NnB and I would both love to know.

Oh, well. In the absence of guidance from the author, I can just imagine they all ended up the way I think they should.

Any survivors of the cast would be wiped out by the Bolsheviks eventually, I suppose, unless they were smart enough to move the to U.S. first.

From the Wikipedia entry on "Anna Karenina":

Fyodor Dostoevsky declared it to be "flawless as a work of art". His opinion was shared by Vladimir Nabokov, who especially admired "the flawless magic of Tolstoy's style", and by William Faulkner, who described the novel as "the best ever written".

No.

Tolkein’s novels are works of art. Tolstoy’s novels are ramblings about some people in Russia and their extra-marital affairs.

Tolkien’s novels need a couple more characters with a sense of humor, in my opinion, but his composition is a pure aesthetic delight. Tolstoy was more like “way too much information about the lives of the redneck clan across the street,” if they all had titles.

You have to consider the source of those quotes: I never liked anything by Dostoyevsky, Nabokov, or Faulkner.

This works, and it’s very pretty. Classical-influenced inspirational pop, in Japanese. We’re all one world, after all ;-).

I still haven't found the story, but this is an amazing resource!

Very nice song. “Tegami” in Japanese means “postcard” or “letter” and of course that’s what the song is about, a note of encouragement to one’s future self.

It’s just past five on this lovely Monday morning, and that piece set a wonderful tone to start the day off with. Thanks much!

Thanks to you also, TC. Keep those lol-cats comin’!

The great thing about history is you know how it ends.

You think you know how it ends. The current bunch of 'historians' is busy rewriting, er, I mean correctly compiling history...

My evil lovebird “Peaches” was out earlier.
She kept trying to get close to Tristan cat so she could serenade him with her song.
He wasn’t having any of it, he’d ook terrified and run.
She’d let out a sad whistle, then follow him.

Don’t recall who did that one.

But I do recall a multiple worlds story titled “Fragger’s Bottom Line”.
It was lame, drek, but kinda funny.

"I do recall a multiple worlds story titled “Fragger’s Bottom Line”."

Supposedly Norman Spinrad, but I didn't find a listing.

I never understood a thing that Faulkner wrote. Maybe it’s me.

Maybe Tristan is her soulmate. Squeak the Divacat’s one true love was Chuck, the black lab. The poor guy always looked a cross between aghast and appalled every time she’d snuggle up to him. He was, of course, the perfect gentleman and never spurned her.

Today I got an oil change and replaced the gross front carpet mats in the Neon with rubber.
It rolled over 158,000 miles today. Still buzzing along with no issues except the passenger side window. I’m somewhat surprised actually; when I bought it I didn’t expect it to last as long as it has.
