Does anyone know if they contact the people whose identities were used when they bust someone using someone’s social security number or other documents? I wonder if people could file civil charges against the users of their information, and/or civil charges against whomever provided the stolen information alongside of the criminal charges against them?

They should also file charges against Social Security for not exposing this scam as well as the IRS as that agency knows first hand that there are tie individuals filing and paying taxes under the same number and they know that Agnes and Luther both 67 living in Minneapolis aren't also living in Tucson with two children under the age of three!

Or, against the employers of workers using stolen identities.

Yes, but it's unlikely to be very effective. Most of the illegals have no real ties to the community. They rent an apartment, or even a room in a house or an apartment that another Latino rented. When they bond out of jail, they'll find another apartment, or another room, in another city.
