If the woman in your life woke up grumpy this morning, dont be too hard on her. It is, apparently, only natural.
Scientists have discovered that women need more sleep than men. And chances are, shes not getting enough. In fact, the best thing a loving husband or partner can do is perhaps persuade her to get a few extra hours snuggling under the duvet. Or face the consequences.
Scientists say women suffer more than men, both mentally and physically, if they are forced to skimp on their sleep. As well as a higher risk of heart disease, depression and psychological problems, sleep-deprived women have extra clotting factors in their blood, which can lead to a stroke. They also have higher inflammation markers, which indicate developing health problems.

Well, here’s the problem right here:
“The more of your brain you use during the day, the more of it that needs to recover and, consequently, the more sleep you need.”
Since Adam and Eve...
And the pain thing? Have you ever seen a guy with a hangnail that doesn’t think it’s a mortal wound?
A granola bar and a glass of milk sounds great right about now!
Continuing on.
NO! YOU shut up! ;)
Aha! By George! You HAVE it!
A hang nail is *this* close to calling 911. You are SO right!!
I’m not a woman, and I’d be pretty ugly if I were one, but I am grumpy in the mornings. I’m so rude I surprise myself.
I would tell my wife but I would get yell at.
LOL!!!!!
‘______if I’ve stayed up all night.’
Ditto here - !!!
Check the time - - !!
Hoot hoot!
Can’t speak for the “man vs. woman in the morning” thing, but mornings are made for SILENCE! And I wish somebody’d tell that rule to some of my co-workers. Early morning is cerebral time, not shouting/telling stories/bragging/BSing time!
Oh, can someone tell the guy next to me to STHU?
Coffee is the cure. Do not attempt to talk to them until they have had their coffee.
People ask me if I wake up grumpy in the morning. I tell them, no, I let her sleep as late as she wants to.
Women and minorities hit hardest.
If you got a wife that will fix you breakfast in the morning you’re a lucky man...; )
Do not talk to me
Do not look at me
Do not turn on lamp
Do not open blinds
My husband wakes up wide awake. That’s just not normal. :)
He also tries to chit chat in the morning
Him: blah blah blah
Me: grunt
My wife treats me like a God, why just this morning she placed burnt offerings before me.
If I haven’t had enough sleep, it’s later in the day that I’m really affected. So I believe their basic data, but I’m not sure it translates to morning grumpiness in particular.
This is why, when a man dies, he’s most likely “survived by his wife.”
This week, with the time change, has really kicked my butt. I get up at 4am as it is, and I have never really been a morning person. Now it’s exacerbated by losing an hour.
An hour! Who know one freaking hour could mess up an entire week.
Mr. Mom4Melody is unaffected. Maybe the article has some merit.
Wait, who wanted to sleep at a sensible time, and who insisted on staying up watching The Bachelor for a second 2 hours just to watch my reaction? And which one is up with the 3yo now?
Need sleep? Then get the heck to bed!
the grumpiness may pay off if the enemy doesn’t let the woman get her sleep. I wonder if they tested new moms.
